    Immortal Exchanges

Has anyone done all the hat, jersey and player exchanges for any of the Immortals? I'm looking for an estimate on how much they cost, specifically Griffey. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the grind to get him since he's one of my favorite players ever and I've already done the Doby career arc.

I haven't done any immortal exchanges yet, but you piqued my interest.

However...I started to do the math, and it made my head hurt.

I think it would be at least 27,900 stubs just for the jerseys needed for Griffey (20 diamond jerseys, with the cheapest being the Mariners Alt Road jersey, which was selling at 1395 each last I checked). Perhaps you could do it cheaper with gold or silver jerseys, but it would take a lot more of them to get to the 15K value required.

In other words...it will cost a lot.

I just saw one estimate posted a couple of weeks ago saying the Griffey exchange "isn't that bad" compared to some other Immortals...followed by an estimate of 80,000 to 90,000 stubs for the exchanges. Obviously the market shifts and changes with time, so that may have gone up or down significantly. At least Griffey played for more than one team, so there are more items to choose from to potentially keep the cost down.

        ya it's a money grab.

i am just doing team epics.

I am trying to do the Cubs one and they want something like 3000 points for autographed Cubs baseballs.

The problem is there are only 3 Cubs autograph baseballs. If I exchange all 3 it's like 1000 points. That means I got to keep rebuying all three balls 3 times! That's ridiculous!

They should have just limited it to just those 3 balls to complete that mission.

I don't spend real money on this stuff so I guess I'll never get this team epic. Or maybe in like a year if I keep playing I'll luck out and get them when they give out the post game rewards.

I’ve done Piazza and Ryan and those are the only ones I’m doing. I can’t tell you how much it cost because I did it over time and since I didn’t plan on doing the others I sold the stuff I had that I didn’t need and each time I did I picked something I did need. I think a lot of people were doing Griffey because a few weeks ago i was selling Seattle and Cincy jerseys for $4000-$6000 and buying 3 things I needed for every one item I sold. I did learn that selling off the other stuff is hurting me now because you need them for other stuff.

You will most likely end up paying out more stubs for the souvenirs and player exchange than a similarly rated Gold pitcher on the market

I was finally able to crunch some numbers on the Griffey Immortal exchanges. It looks like with a little luck and patience, you can finish the hat, jersey and player exchanges for a total of around 70,000 stubs. Ouch.

Yeah, I started doing the hats for Griffey recently after a lucky pack pull and stopped because it was draining my stubs (You need 167 bronze hats!). I don't play nearly enough to have any hope of completing any of the immortals without putting money into the game, something I refuse to do.

All the exchanges are such a drag this year.

                  Re: Immortal Exchanges

So I managed to complete the player exchange for Griffey for 17,000 stubs, which was less than the 20,000 I projected it would cost. Not a huge savings, but if I can go 15% under my projection for the hats and jerseys as well, then I'd end up paying about 60,000 stubs instead of 70,000.

I figure the jerseys should come fairly easily since there are so many to pick from. The hats are going to take FOREVER to buy if I want them on the cheap. Exchanging 167 bronze hats is ridiculous, but buying the hats with the higher exchange rate would cost 2 to 3 times as much. I'd rather just hit a "pay 15,000 stubs" button in the program instead of having to go through all this monotonous BS.

And that is by all accounts the cheapest one by a sizable margin.

Yeah, I'm not gonna even bother with the exchange missions for the Immortals. I'll be just fine with their 50/60% cards. I'm not spending a dime on stubs, and pouring stubs into the Career Arc exchanges is bad enough. No way I'm buying all them hats and jerseys for the Immortals.

73 and 74 bronze aren't bad to use either, depending on the price. I just sorted the market for that rating range and looked at the prices. I used a combination of Keon Broxton, Albert Amora, Andrew Toles, Ian Happ, and Trayce Thompson to complete the Griffey exchange.

Prices are shooting up on the market today...even for the lowest level players. Assuming it's all folks preparing for the roster updates coming Friday.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy ALL of the hats for the Griffey exchange...all 167 of them. It actually cost me way less than I thought it would. At some points, my buy orders were getting fulfilled the second I made them. Definitely still an annoying grind, but I did it in one evening. I also finished the player exchanges. Looks like I should've gone the bronze route, but what I did instead still put me 3,000 stubs under my projection and I got it done quickly, so I'll take it. I'm also halfway done with the jersey exchange, but I'm out of stubs. Gotta get back to grinding!

                              Hats: 8,452 stubs
                              Players: 17,070 stubs
                              Jerseys (projected): 26,000 stubs
                              Total (projected): 51,522 stubs

This is still an utterly ridiculous thing we're required to do and a massive waste of stubs, but I should come in well under my 70,000 stub projection. And this is still better than grinding out 5 team epics for the same 5% towards to program. I'm working on my second epic and I'm ready to gouge my eyes out. Five? No thank you.
