Should have renamed game as MLB 18 THE SCHIMPF

So i got this guy from my first pack when I got the game. I had to use him and oh boy, is he great or what.

Now a month later I guess I find out everyone is using him.

So what gives? Why is this guy who's playing AA ball right now the best player in the game? LIterally the guy is better than diamond players. I play offline 99 percent of the time and I think I'm cheating the CPU if I put him in my lineup.

Another guy that is just as good and sometimes better is Gallo. Both these guys rake more HR's than the Babe or Trout or Harper.

Sort of ridiculous I'd say but is this something they're going to fix or it's a glitch in this years game?

If memory serves me, Scooter Gennett was a killer card last year as well

Yeah, power trumps contact by a large margin this year. It seems broken

I agree. The gap between power hitters and contact hitters is too great. I just started using cards with power and I am hitting a ridiculous amount of homers. I all most feel like the amount of homers for power guys should be tied to launch angles more than just how hard they hit the ball. It is widely known that Ichiro could hit homer after homer in BP. He just didn't try for HR in game. I am sooooo sick of weaker players that constantly hit line drives that barely make it to the infielders. Or line drives to the gap that should be doubles, but, just die out for singles. Just because you don't hit home runs doesn't mean you aren't roping the ball all over the place.

Contact and vision seem to actually be detrimental this year, which is truly messed up. All the mean is you get really bad contact on pitches that you should be missing completely. Given how hard it is to strike out, that's a very bad thing compared to the guys who either miss it or hit it a mile

There is something very demoralising about seeing an infielder outrun a linedrive in order to catch it. The physics this year seem miles off in terms of how quickly the ball travels in comparison to the speed of the fielders, the ball just floats, hanging in the air while the fielder runs it down.
