Re: What are you working on? (returning)

Since my rough games the other day, I’ve gone on a 7 game winning streak. That took me from 614 to 837. Hopefully I can keep the winning up, I really want that Sutter. The last game I played, the guy wanted a friendly quit when I was up 4-0 and he only had 3 hits. Who would take that?

Lmao I've been offered those. I let it sit there a bit longer so they can feel a bit of shame, but now that I think about it, somebody who asks for a friendly quit in that situation can't feel shame anyways

Best of luck to you in your final stretch. Sitting at 824 here so I probably need 5

Anytime I get one of those, I do let it sit there to drain their pause timer. I've actually had a few get down to 0 and got easy wins out of it.

I'm at 896. I just played someone who was 799, I could not afford to lose. I held onto a 1-0 lead for like 8 innings and every freaking inning he had men on, including the last when I had to get Arenado out with the bases loaded

ONE MORE WIN

Was up 3-2 in the 8th when Lofton whiffed on a fly ball and he 2 run homered next

Didn't recover

Re: What are you working on? (returning)

How did anyone ever do these program battles? Played as the Boss Squad and did everything but the HR. Twice. At Forbes f****** Field where it's damn near impossible to hit anything out. Did the same thing as before where I'm winning 3-0 nothing in the 9th and walk the tying runs in to extend and try to hit a HR because that's apparently the only way you can win games. Except this time I exceeded the strike out total. Can only K 6 times and going into extras makes that impossible. I took something like 6 or 7 walks in the game and I still failed the Moment.

It's so frustrating because it's either:

1. Intentionally and overly difficult to piss people off so they just buy stubs to buy the players.

2. Really, really, really bad and uneducated game design. You literally choose to punish players for playing the game of baseball.

There's a lot I enjoy with this game. But here there is no complaining about errors (though trust me in this game routine grounders were dropped) or anything else. This isn't complaining that the game isn't whatever and blah blah.

This is literally the opposite. This isn't a case where someone can say "oh that's baseball" because this WAS baseball. It's so goddamn annoying.

I would agree with you. I have to literally play the game wrong to complete some of these missions. That isn't real baseball, that is a gimmick. The pitch speeds being all over the place is what kills me. I have games where I am supposedly late on 82 mph pitches.....I started swinging as soon as the pitcher lets go and guessing and still late....then later on I play the same mission and I am pulling pitches with the pitcher.....I think there is something up with the frame rate with pitches and batter swings. I have taken a break to play Days Gone and Divison 2 and I am not sure I am going to bother any more. It is more like playing a slot machine at the casino. That is ok to a certain extent because randomness is a part of baseball. That isn't the issue here.

Re: What are you working on? (returning)

After spending all day trying to grind 1st inning programs I gave up. I'm at 279. There's a couple I identified as the ones I'll try but they have the generic flaws they all do. These full game ones are brutal. I really hate some of the requirements but no amount of complaining will change anything. I'm at like 149 on 2nd inning without even doing moments for it so earning for just playing helps I guess?

Decided to finally finish the Yankee collection. I didn't realise you only get 5k for quick selling diamonds you collected so I might not spin them off so fast after all. I'm close to the Phillies as well needing only Harper but that will probably have to wait. I like the Hamels card. Realistically none of Stanton, Chapman or Harper fit on my team so taking a 90k loss just to keep hammering collections doesn't work for me right now. I guess I could just finish the lesser collections for now. The Cano was what I was really eying up so I might jump back into Ranked now.

Also swapped Snell out for Paxton for now. I cannot do anything with Snell. Even offline I suck pitching with him. What's crazy is the Breakout Newhouser has been lights out for me. And when comparing him to other cards he stacks up incredibly well and really the control is the only thing that sucks on him but he's nasty so I still do work with him. I can't imagine how good the Diamond is.

I wish we could trade. Surely I would be able to find someone to trade Stanton/Chapman for Harper/Freeman to complete collections.

Oh well.
