I have to swear off Showdown. I hate it so much. Got to Britton down 3. Every time I got good contact it was a popup or grounder right to a fielder, including two DPs after I drew walks. Hit a single solo shot for my only run.

There’s just no incentive to try again. This mode is so tedious and unrewarding.

Showdowns are dicey from a "time spent":"XP gained" perspective. If you can knock it out the first time, it might be worth it.

But say it takes you an hour for a whole Showdown session, but then you fail at the end. You then repeat it (and take another hour)....that's now two hours spent.

The more time you spend, the more you limit the value of the XP gained (relative to playing games). Also remember that by playing Showdown, you're not accruing any progress on other missions.

Featured Program Moments have the same general time investment to XP gained issue. If you can knock out a Moment in a min or two for 1000 XP (or more), it's likely worth it. If you start spinning your wheels on a program moment for 10 mins or longer, you've wasted time you could have spent playing a single Conquest game.

I know the defined XP chunks can be appealing, but we all need to be cognizant of whether we are using our time in-game wisely.

It's why I mentioned Statesman. I think that is one of the most fair stadiums I've played at and the created stadiums I make all have the same elevation as it.
I tried 4 or 5 event games at statesman and it didn't grab me.

I've been using the created stadium bricktown ballpark and tinkering with elevation.

Its basically red bricks field flipped. Real short in left, deeper in right so could maybe hide a slower guy in lf.

I'm thinking of maybe completing the dodgers for Gibson since it's so cheap. I have buxton at p4 but feel like I could get a better stated hit card and Gibson seems the most well rounded option I don't currently have

I didn’t spend much time on the event Friday but was definitely not feeling up to it at the time, and punted the event. I’m pretty caught up now though, and at least offline been doing a good job of waiting for my pitch to hit, and laying off garbage.

So I figured I’d at least play a couple games of the event to see how things went. Laying off bad pitches goes a long way though and was hitting real well and got up to 15 wins pretty quickly. At least last night not a lot of people could pitch if you don’t swing at balls in the dirt.

So hopefully that hitting will carry over to BR tonight. Utley’s days are likely numbered with Joe Morgan available.

Gibson is solid. Not glitchy, but a good all-around player.

I've actually done nicely with that program reward David Justice too...obviously not as well-rounded as Gibson, but his stick is very good if you can "hide" him defensively.

I finished big dog and rizzo stuff playing mini seasons.

Did decent on some of the pack rewards and I'm about halfway done with MS. Stubs back up above 70k after buying trout and haven't really sold anything. Just playing and I cleaned some jerseys and did a few eqpt collections for stubs/packs... Also pulled about 20k in Harper diamond eqpt

Only thing offline left for me is to do the new may moments

I see jhoan Duran is already superfractored by 11 people. You have to go in play vs cpu and just mindlessly pitch with him for like 3 to 5 hrs to do this right? That sounds like a painfully boring process

I don't get it either VV....

A P-5 is the same whether you're the first to do it or the 1000th to do it....

The lowest P-5 I have ever gotten was the Henke this year. I could have been number 2 probably, but I hit a lull in playing the mode...wound up at 12. And frankly, that was the early days after launch when I was just cranking through tons of gams in the US Conquest map and mini-seasons....not because I was TRYING to level him up.

Re: What Are You Working On? (Returning) - MLB The Show 22 Edition

After selling my BR stuff, I was getting within reach of completing the live series collection, so I sold a few of the extra event cards I had along with Hershiser and anime Randy Johnson and cashed in some MS rewards to complete it.

Sig Johnson is a big improvement over the anime card one. It’s pretty much the same pitches except the sig has a splitter instead of a change up. And the change up on the lower card was awful, it seemed every time I threw it, it got hit hard and that’s definitely not the case with the splitter. For now, I’m happy with my decision to sell all that stuff off, hopefully I won’t regret it when a collection reward comes along.
