I have been messing around with one team so far and think I am getting the hang of editing it. Hopefully it keeps going smoothly.

Just had a 10 play drive end in a Field Goal with team I edited on first drive. 5 runs 5 passes.

2nd drive went 6 plays and punted 4 passes 2 runs.

3rd drive 9 plays 5 pass 4 runs and a touchdown.

4th drive 11 plays 7 pass 4 run and ends in a Beautiful slate to pass in the end zone.

I am watching CPU vs CPU so I can eliminate USER bias. I am seeing some nice cuts & moves by Quarterbacks, Runningbacks and Receivers with the ball.


Edit: Keep in mind I didn't edit the other team. So their defense is default ratings.

Are there any options plays in it? Triple Option? Speed Option? Midline Iso? Power Option?

After my first game on normal difficulty without ever having touch practice mode, during the 4th quarter, I think I stumbled onto an overpowered slant route. So I decided to start a new game and up the difficulty to full maximum (hard) and test that same exact route over and over again.

Yes, I threw a few interceptions, but overall, it still felt overpowered. Meaning, I'll have to enforce house rules on myself. No more running that play. I do watch football, but I don't know much about the X's and O's, so I'm not sure what would be realistically appropriate to stop slant routes.

Overall for the time being and brief exposure, I'm still glad I bought it for $16.99

EDIT 1: I need to make an amendment to my initial feedback with regards to kick returners not running upfield. I think I jump the gun too quickly. It had more to do with my kick placement. If I kick it towards the corner/sidelines, the return will run upfield, but will eventually run out of bounds as the defense gets close.

EDIT 2: Clarification. Control orientation problems happens if the punt returner does not catch the ball. When the ball hits the ground on a punt, that is when the analog orientation becomes wonky. If the punter does catch the ball, then there is no issue with the control sticks.

EDIT 3: If the punter does let the ball fall to the ground, I have never been successful picking up the football.



1. Are slants overpowered? Possibly yes even on hard difficulty. Not as bad as Medium/Normal difficulty. I did throw a few interception with the same slant route, but in most cases, it was still overpowered. And I did purposely stop running upfield after the catch because I wanted to run the play over and over as much as possible.
2. Circle button to select closest defender is unresponsive on passing plays when the ball is in the air.
3. Control orientation is awkward after receiving the punt. Prior to the punt, moving my LS analog stick to the RIGHT moves the punt retuner to the RIGHT. Once the screen flips upon receiving the punt, continue pushing the LS analog stick to the RIGHT awkward moves the punt returner to the LEFT.
4. The same with UP/DOWN movement. Prior to the punt, moving the LS analog stick UP, moves the punt returner UP. Once the screen orientation flips, continue pushing the LS analog stick UP will move the punt returner DOWN.
5. CPU kick returner seems to always run out of bounds rather than attempt to run up field for more yardage.
6. BUG - Off side/delay of game penalty bug. At the start of the next play when everyone else is back to the line of scrimmage set for the next play, on rare occasions, one of the offensive (or defensive) player remains rolling on the ground resulting in an off side/delay of game penalty bug.
7. BUG - Seen this once. Immediately after scoring a touchdown, I wanted to go for a 2 point conversion to continue to test the slant route (to see if it's overpowered). When I failed the conversion, on screen display says "Turn over on downs" or something to that extent. The CPU was pinned back and starts their offense from the 2 yard line. I did not have a chance to kick off.
8. Controller - The following probably takes getting use to, but it's something to note.

O - switch to the closest defender
X - sprint button
SQUARE - tackle

Now, the "adaptation or adjustment period" involves quickly switching to the closest defender but also using the tackle button. Because of the button layout, it'll take time to adjust to the switch and promptly hitting the tackle button.
