It almost made it in 2018. I think it was in second place behind the logo editor when we did the vote last summer.

I'm sure it will appear in the vote again.

Not this year but maybe in 2020. We will be assessing all potential online features for next year's game. Dave was responsible for online play at EA so this is in his wheelhouse.

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but jeez.
Strange that this is your first post in many years on the forums. Also comes on the day when the Phenom Elite announcement is public.

Anyways....

We can appreciate IMV's desire and vision for a College Football title. Unfortunately, though game development is manual labor and a grand vision with AAA expectations also costs millions of dollars.

Receiving millions of dollars from private equity or venture capital funds is extremely difficult to do purely on an idea with little to no revenue.

Our game is built by a developer with 20+ years of game development experience and worked at EA.

We are putting together a game with the resources that are available to us and continue to show progress. But at least we're on the field.

We could go the other route and promise AAA standards, put together mockup screenshots, say we are going to raise a lot of money. But this isn't our first rodeo and we know that's not a realistic outcome so why hype up the community for nothing.

Even if we were to raise millions of dollars and try to compete with Madden directly. Think of the infrastructure alone to get a company off the ground to do that. You'd have to hire hundreds of people (let alone find the right people to hire), create multiple divisions of the company, put in standard operating procedures for your company, start building your own game engine (especially if you don't like our game that is built on Unity). That would literally take years to do.

If you were an investor - where would you give your money? Option 1 or 2?

Option 1: Led by former EA Developer, company that has put two games on the market in 2017 and 2018, approved developer and publisher with Sony and Microsoft, a former Hall of Fame QB and several partnerships in place. Oh yeah and some actual revenue that is reported to the government. Your biggest hangup is graphics and a deeper Dynasty mode.

Option 2: Lots of vision and marketing. Great mockups, ideas and community involvement. But no product.

If your biggest complaint on Option 1 is the "graphics" - you could invest a little bit of money into Option 1 and get photo-realistic graphics that you desire. Versus Option 2 where you have to invest a lot more money and start building an entire game and company from scratch. Investors want to minimize risk, I would think option 1 is a less risky investment.

Just the reality and economics of game development.

Re: College Dynasty Mode Thread

Any plans to include FCS teams? This was a huge feature that was completely left out of the PS3/360 NCAA versions. I remember in dynasty mode for NCAA Football 2000, the FCS season would follow along with the FBS season with its own Top 25 rankings and playoffs at the end. Would be something to consider reviving.....

Our application with Learfield/NCAA also included FCS and FBS teams. Need to see what the outcome is there and then figure out how to incorporate both.

That's a good idea though about running the two leagues in parallel. Something to add to the list. Nobody else has mentioned that before.

We thought about running a High School or Professional league in parallel. But the file save size limitation is where the problem comes. It's easy for us to run separate Dynasty's or Franchise's and then incorporate the players from one to another. But when you start mixing it all together it can get a bit complicated if the league structures are vastly different.

Re: College Dynasty Mode Thread

Hey guys, letís keep this thread on topic and focused on Maximum Footballís dynasty mode. Obviously the community is well served by having developers take time to interact with us. I donít think itís fair to baselessly criticize / troll them with comments about a product that doesnít even exist.

How is the progress of that application going?
