So...why are some teams really accurate to their real-life counterparts, but others are not? Central Michigan, for example, wears maroon and gold. Middle Michigan's colors in the game appear to be blue and yellow? Why is that?

The developers can not answer your question due to obvious ramifications. Knowing they can't answer your question because of thoes. Should indirectly give you the answer to your question.
