This dynasty looks great, and makes me want to start a thread! Keep it up.

#21 Colorado @ #7 Miami
Orange Bowl
Coral Gables, FL
September 24th, 2005

Canes' D buffs up vs. Colorado

Coral Gables, FL- It's beginning to show that the defense is the strength of this year's Miami team. But the offense can turn it on too.

Both units sparkled in the home opener, and the end result was a 34-10 thumping of the 21st-ranked Colorado.

Kyle Wright had his best game yet, going 15-25 for 192 yards with two TDs and no INTs. Tyrone Moss carried the ball only 11 times, good for 117 yards and an 83 yard TD. Darnell Jenkins led the Canes with 4 receptions for 58 yards. Lance Leggett caught 3 for 61 and a TD, and Greg Olsen had two for 31 and another TD.

For the Buffs, Joel Klatt was 7-15 for 133 yards with a TD and an interception. FB Lawrence Vickers pounded out a brutal 69 yards on 35 carries, and although he had his moments, the Miami linemen and linebackers feasted on him for most of the day. Evan Judge had 3 catches for Colorado, good for 61 yards and a TD.

On defense, Rocky McIntosh led Miami with 11 tackles, followed by 9 from Willie Williams. Orien Harris added 8, with 2 sacks. Both Williams and Harris each forced a fumble. Devin Hester recorded his first INT of the season.

For Colorado, star LB Brian Iwuh had 12 tackles and 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. SS Dominique Brooks was next with 7 tackles. In all, the Buffaloes forced five fumbles, but didn't recover any of them.

The cupcake brigade is in Miami for the next two weeks, starting with South Florida next week.

Re: Miami Hurricanes (NCAA 06)

So Hester had more total yards than Colorado had offense?

Nice win!

Hester's the man!

So, after playing the first couple of games, what do you think of Kyle Wright?

It took me a while to get used to the passing on this game, but then I realized that a lot of the time I was throwing while I was moving. Once I started planting my feet I was much more accurate. Things are looking up for Wright.
