Re: 2006 Florida Marlins: Who are these guys? (MVP 05)

The Marlins are off to another hot start and look to redefend the World Series title...24-3 with a 9.5 game lead after just one month. For the big three, its Cabrera .368/7/25, Hermida .439/5/24, Morneau .350/9/31, while Garrick is .341/7/17 despite missing two weeks with an injury. Willis is 6-0/1.74, while Embree is 12/12 in saves without giving up a run.

Cabrera, Hermida, and Morneau continue to be the best trio ever to play the game, with respective stats of .362/21/55, .467/12/50, .337/14/54. Garrick also has 11 homers. On the mound, Dontrelle Willis is 10-0/1.63. Thompson has an ERA of 2.59, but the rest of the staff hasn't been very impressive. Embree is 20/20 in save situations. All of this leads to an unbelievable 45-9 record.

This'll serve as the monthly update. This team is killing and on the way to another title. Everything has been bought for the stadium. How long will this domination last?

Two games later, Florida defeated the Nationals 21-2. Hermida homered four times, Morneau and Jacobs twice, while Hart, Cabrera, and Garrick went yard once. The stat sheet was filled again, and Hermida is now hitting .451. Ted Williams may be in jeopardy.

54 runs in a three game road series. Record? Maybe.

80-27.

Cabrera joined the 500 club at age 29. .376/41/106 this year. Morneau is .348/32/105, while Hermida chips in .429/28/98. Two months left to breaking .400. Willis 18-2/2.07 and Hernandez 16-2/3.20 are locking it down on the mound. The top six players in the MVP race are all Marlins.
