Texas Southern (2-0, 6-4) @Prairie View (1-1, 2-9)

Code:

1st 2nd OT Total Texas Southern 43 42 - 85 Prairie View 38 34 - 72 Tigers Panthers FG Percentage 0.441 0.403 3 Pointers 3/15 3/17 Rebounds 43 30 Assists 17 19 Steals 15 14 Blocks 2 3

Prairie View, TX - Sweat could be seen on Coach Lewis' forehead when PG Nick Walker drew two early fouls and sat out most of the first half. Lewis' decision to rest starting PG White was looking tragic as the Panthers ran out to an early 8-point lead. Senior PF Chris Moore stepped up and established a solid inside presence for the Tigers for maybe the first time this season, as the Tigers pulled away with the win.

Texas Southern started the season playing ten of their first eleven games on the road, winning six of those road contests.

Texas Southern Tigers
C. Moore 17 pts, 17 rebs, 7-7 ft
J. Jones 14 pts, 2 assts

Prairie View Panthers
A. Genao 18 pts, 4 rebs, 4 ast, 6/7 ft
B. Ezeh 13 pts, 10 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stl

Re: The Coaching Career of Marc Lewis (ch2k7-360)

Houston, TX - Greg Gumbel designated Jacob Johnson's 1 point performance as the 'Game Changing Performance' in the Prairie View game, continuously showing replays of the same free throw throughout the post-game show.

Nevertheless, Coach Lewis has demoted Johnson to the reserve guard to make way for Dominique White's return from injury. Lewis has no objections to the sole free throw being included in the Tigers' highlight video for the season, though.

Jackson State (2-2, 8-9) @ Texas Southern (3-0, 7-4)

Code:

1st 2nd OT Total Jackson State 37 44 - 81 Texas Southern 24 37 - 61 Tigers Tigers FG Percentage 0.551 0.339 3 Pointers 9/14 2/15 Rebounds 29 32 Assists 13 12 Steals 14 14 Blocks 1 4

Houston, TX - For the third game in a row, Texas Southern fell behind against a SWAC opponent. Unfortunately, against Jackson State there was no comeback victory. Jackson State was able to maintain its consistent scoring throughout the game with four players scoring in double digits. For Texas Southern, the scoring drought lasted throughout the whole game.

"It's the mental lapses that concern me the most. If we don't find a way to reduce these, we are not going to be able to compete for the SWAC title. The scoring droughts are going to happen, but we can't afford to make the simple mistakes like today."

Jackson State Tigers
C. Givens - 18 pts, 5 asts, 2 stls, 3/3 3pt
T. Johnson - 12 pts, 2 rebs, 2 asts, 3 stls
G. Maxey - 12 pts, 5 rebs, 1 ast, 2 stls
H. Tompkins - 12 pts, 4 rebs, 2 stls, 4/6 3pt

Texas Southern Tigers
D. White - 13 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts, 1 stl
C. Brown - 13 pts, 6/13 fgs, 1/4 3pt

It looks like the rough ooc schedule is paying dividends since the Tigers have won their first three conference games.

It's about time that the senior Moore finally took a leadership role and lead the team in the absense of White and also because of Walker's early foul trouble.

Yeah, unfortunately he disappeared again against Jackson St. He is oversized by most of the opponents in the SWAC, making it difficult for him to be as dominant as he was in real-life.
