Braves walk-off with win

Miguel Cabrera his his third homerun of the game in the ninth inning to tie things up at eight runs apiece, but Matt Diaz answered back with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning to give Atlanta the win. Starters Tim Hudson and Scott Olsen both had tough outings, and the teams combined for 25 hits.

Marlins grab a win in Houston

Miguel Cabrera continued his blazing hot start, depositing homers number ten and eleven into the stands. Carlos Lee led the home team with a 3-4, three RBI day. The Astros threatened in the eighth, getting a couple men on and some runs versus Pinto, but Julio entered with one out and prevented any more damage.

Mike Jacobs hit a two-run blast to right field off closer Brad Lidge in the tenth inning, finishing off what Willingham started with his ninth inning homerun. Lance Berkman had four hits, including el grande salami, for the host Astros.

Think my sliders are working well, when they stay in the game. Right in the middle or leading by one in all pitching categories, big leads for most batting HRs and Ks though, as well as SLG.

Problem is that there is awful distribution on the team. Cabrera is still batting .500, and some guys are barely breaking .200.

Ugly game versus Mets

New York had twenty hits. It wasn't pretty.

Marlins earn series split

Reserve outfielder Joe Borchard homered in his start in place of Willingham, and backup catcher Matt Treanor drove in two runs as the Marlins bench players led the team to a 5-1 victory over the division-leading Mets.

Marlins to shake up starting outfield

With the three current starting outfielders of Willingham, De Aza, and Hermida all batting below the Mendoza line, the manager has decided it is time to make a move or two in favor of better offensive production. Switch hitting Joe Borchard will get the start in right for Hermida versus lefties, and will replace Willingham in left against right handed pitchers. Cody Ross and utility man Alfredo Amezega will compete for the starting centerfield job, with minor leaguers Reggie Abercrombie and Eric Reed hoping to get a chance as well.

Uggla walks off with the win

The two clubs exchanged homers back and forth during the last four innings, switching the lead four times before Uggla ended it with a two run shot in the bottom of the ninth. Cabrera went 4-4 with two homers of his own on the day, and Cristian Guzman hit a grand slam for the Nationals.
