A 5-5, 5 HR, 8 RBI for Cabrera dwarfed every other Marlin's effort today, though Willingham hit a three run shot as a pinch hitter, and Alfredo Amezega went 2-4 with the first Florida triple this year. And this is with the power slider at 0.
Holy ****. Cabrera went off.

Re: Florida Marlins MLB 2k7

I can't help but get insane numbers with Cabrera. Hitting about .550 for the season and has a dozen more HRs than anyone else, and I already have two with him in the game Im playing now (still 0 power on sliders). Maybe when I start simming some games the numbers will come back a bit, but anytime I press swing with any reasonable timing the ball just rockets off the bat.

Marlins get it done in Philly

(16-7) Florida 8
(6-17) Philadelphia 7

W - Owens (1-0)
L - Geary (0-1)
S - Julio (8)

Mike Jacobs hit an RBI double in the tenth inning to give Florida the lead, and Julio shut the door for his eighth save. Miguel Cabrera and Hanley Ramirez each hit two homers, while Dan Uggla added his fifth blast of the year.

Cabrera is batting .552 with 21 HRs and 37 RBIs. Only nine other MLB players have more RBIs that Cabrera has HRs.

Have you thought about turning down contact?

The thing is, all my other batters are hitting pretty damn close to real life averages. No one else is over .320, most around .260-.290. My team batting average ranks right in the middle of the league. The relatively high contact is also what's keeping me from striking out a dozen times per game, and I already lead the league in Ks.

I think the Phillies just scored again

(7-17) Philadelphia 18
(16-8) Florida 9

W - Eaton (2-2)
L - Mitre (2-1)

Seven different players homered in this slugfest, with Jimmy Rollins leading the way om a 5-5, 5 R, 5 RBI night. Helms hit a grand slam. Cabrera and Jacobs both had three RBIs for the visitors.

Marlins drop another one

(8-17) Philadelphia 5
(16-9) Florida 4

W - Madson (1-1)
L - Willis (1-1)
S - Gordon (4)

The Phillies scored two runs in the eighth to take a 5-4 lead, and Pat Burrell brought Willingham's potential tying homer back into the ballpark in the top of the ninth to secure Philadelphia's second straight win against the Marlins.

Florida piles it on New York

(17-9) Florida 10
(15-11) New York 5

W - Pinto (3-0)
L - Heilman (2-1)
S - Gregg (2)

Dan Uggla hit two homeruns, giving him eight for the year, and Florida scored seven runs in the last three innings to break this one wide open. Olivo and Jacobs had three hits apiece.
