Coach's Notes
  • You'd think 20 point leads would hold up.
  • Romain Martin fouls a power forward taking his first and only three of the game, he makes it, then makes the foul shot. Said power forward has four points total for the game. Martin goes 1-8 from three point land. Martin misses the game winner. Why Julio Anthony didn't take the shot is beyond me.
  • I could do nothing to stop Erik Adams or that pesky Nick Smith.

Coach's Notes
  • We should get by Tennessee Tech ok, but both Jacksonville and Morehead I am worried about. Morhead might be the 7 seed but we are 0-2 against them in the regular season. That one point loss to Jacksonville is still in the back of my mind.
  • I don't want to look too far ahead, but if we don't win the conference tourney this year I fully expect us to be in the NIT.

Winning 20 games with a small school is a great achievement. Congrats and good luck in the OVC tourny.

Congratulations on the 20 victories! Eastern Illinois didn't give you an abundance of talent to work with.

It's an interesting point you bring up about the NIT. I know that first place teams like Tennessee St would be guaranteed a spot. I'm not sure about a team that ties for first like Jacksonville St, though. Eventhough you finished only one game behind, it may depend heavily on your team's RPI. Do you know what the RPI is?

Regardless, here's hoping you win the conference tourney and make the question moot.

EIU's RPI is 109.
