Rosters: Default

Trades: Computer Offers Only - acceptance will be determined by coin flip (trade = heads, decline = tails)

Free Agency: will release a maximum of two pitchers and fielders, replaced by players of same positions. All signings and releases will be determined by a card system of mine (same position numbers 1-12 from top to bottom of FA list. I must make one offer to each position needed(cards determine years and salary is default) and wait to see if that designated player accepts or not, if offer(s) are declined, I repeat the process.

Roster: I designate myself 2 franchise players before a season starts (one hitter and one pitcher) that are automatically declined in trade offers. All other players are free game.

Stats: Will update Team and Player stats at the 20, 40, 60, 81, 100, 120, 140, 162 game mark.

My House Rules for Batting:

Rule 1 -
Must wait until the AI throws one strike in the count to swing, unless it is a 2-0 or 3-0 count. If an out is recorded on that swing, I lose the power swing on 2-0 and 3-0 counts and have to wait until the AI throws a strike to swing with the contact swing.

Rule 2 - Must use
Power swing on all 2-0 and 3-0 counts (square button), must use contact swing on 1 and 2 strike counts (X button).

Rule 3 - Only allowed one batter every 3 innings to swing at the first pitch. (First Pitch Swinging) This allows me not to step to the plate every at bat and have to wait for a strike to be thrown.

My House Rules for Pitching:

Rule 1 - I now use a deck of cards to determine my every pitch. Location is wherever you want. If there are four pitches in a clockwise sequence such as fastball, curve, 2 seam fastball, change-up, then 1,5,9 equals fastball, 2,6,10 equals curve and so forth.

Rule 2 - only one pickoff attempt per at bat

Rule 3 - Starters can go as long as they want until the following occurs.

Rule 3a - A total of 10 base runners combined in (hits, errors, walks)

Rule 3b - a total of 9 base runners and 2 men on base.

Rule 3c - tied or losing after the 7th inning or the above occurs before.

Rule 3d - after 7th inning, starter may continue until potential tying run comes to the plate. (Such as leading 4-2 and the AI has one runner on base. Tying run is coming up, must be pulled. (Unless you are pitching a no-hitter or perfect game, then rule applies after first hit is allowed)

Rule 4 - Relievers can go a maximum of 4 innings for long relievers, 3 innings for middle, and 2 innings setups and closers, or one of the following:

Rule 4b - 4 earned runs or
a total of 5 base runners combined (hits, errors, walks) for Long Relievers, 3 earned runs or a total of 5 base runners combined (hits, errors, walks) for Middle Relievers, 2 earned runs or a total of 5 base runners combined (hits, errors, walks) for Set Up Relievers or Closers,

Rule 4c - setup man
automatically enters in 8th if winning by only 1 run or potential tying run comes to the plate, and closer automatically enters in 9th if winning by 3 runs or less. (unless you are pitching a no-hitter or perfect game, then rule applies after first hit is allowed)

My House Rules For Base Running:

Rule 1 - only one extra step lead for baserunners. If the AI pitcher throws to the base you lead from, you lose that extra step for the remainder at bat. Use it wisely.

Rule 2 - Can steal as much as you want, until you get caught stealing. Rule resets at the beginning of each AI pitching change.

*****ALL RULES ABOVE THAT DON'T INVOLVE AI PITCHING CHANGES RESET AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY 9 EXTRA INNINGS.*****

Yeah, it makes the game play so realistic for me. I do it for all my sports games. NHL, Madden, NCAA, MLB.

Check out my other thread. I asked the mods to delete it, so if you get a chance look at it before it's gone. I had a blast with it, 7-19 before my memory card got deleted. Try using them sometime and see what you think. It makes it feel like situational baseball to me. It also makes my stats as sim as they can get over a course of a season. A lot of people like using them, so I've been told, but they aren't for everyone.

Re: Highheat's O's Season (MLB 07, THE Show)

Good to see you, highheat. I might trty your house rules sometime. Right now I just started a Devil Rys dynasty (They're my 2nd favorite team) and it's been pretty fun. it's pretty fun to start with a weak team. Right now I'm 0-4 and just gave up 13 homers to the Blue Jays in one game. Lost 20-7.

Good luck!
