Re: Georgetown Hoyas (CH 2K8)

Recruiting

I was able to pull in four 4-star recruits:

PF Rashad Bass
6-8, 216 lbs
Santa Clarita, CA
-#38 recruit overall. Solid on both ends of the floor and will be needed in trying to fill the holes created by the departure of Hibbert and Ewing Jr.

C Gabriel Grove
7-1, 253
Chicago, IL
-#78 recruit overall. A huge body who is rough on the offensive side of the floor but a game changer on defense. Will see plenty of playing time as a freshman with his size and defensive skills.

PF Jarrett Didlake
6-8, 229
Tampa, FL
-#49 recruit overall. Another big body for the Hoyas who will be thrown into the mix to see how he handles things. A garbage player who is going to make his presence felt around the boards.

SF Erroyl Craven
6-6, 210
Washington, D.C.
-#92 recruit overall. A good slasher who has decent range on his jumper. Another good defender who has great athleticism...something this class has bunches of.

I have two scholarships left but I don't know if I'm going to sign anyone else.

Hoyas Defense Plays Best Game vs. UCONN in 65-44 victory

#20 Connecticut (11-3) @ #6 Georgetown (10-3)

Well I have finally gotten into the swing of things on defense. A couple slider tweaks to make it harder for both clubs to shoot has yielded realistic stats, finally.

It was pretty tight early and bodies were flying all over the place but UCONN went ice cold at the end of the first half. I got on a little run and went into halftime up 35-20, with UCONN shooting 20% for the half.

In the second half it was more of the same as my defense just overwhelmed UCONN. Stanley Robinson shot 1-11 for the Huskies, including 0-5 from 3pt range. UCONN shot 25% for the game, and I shot 45%.

Team Stats
UCONN/Gtown
PTS: 44 / 65
FG: 14-56 / 26-60
FT: 14-17 / 7-14
3PT: 2-19 / 6-12
REB: 34 / 43
AST: 9 / 13
TO: 8 / 7

Hoyas
Sr. PG Jonathan Wallace : 10 pts, 1 ast, 3/8 fg
So. SF DaJuan Summers : 13 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 5-13 fg, 3-6 3pt
Sr. PF Patrick Ewing Jr. : 7 pts, 12 reb, 2 stl, blk, 3-6 fg, 1-1 3pt
Sr. C Roy Hibbert : 14 pts, 16 reb, 7-12 fg

Huskies
Jr. PG A.J. Price : 12 pts, 4-6 fg, 1-3 3pt
So. SF Stanley Robinson : 4 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast, 1-11 fg, 0-5 3pt
Jr. PF Jeff Adrien : 8 pts, 12 reb, 3-7 fg
So. C Hasheem Thabeet : 9 pts, 8 reb, 2 stl, 3 blk

Doug Wiggins & Craig Austrie combined for : 2 pts, 0-14 fg, 0-6 3pt!!!

Terrible shooting night for the Huskies

Big East Standings
3-0 (#6 Gtown, #15 Marquette, St. John's)
2-0 (Notre Dame, #13 Louisville)
2-1 (South Florida, DePaul)
1-1 (#18 Pittsburgh, Villanova)
1-2 (Rutgers, Syracuse)
1-3 (#20 UCONN)
0-2 (Seton Hall)
0-3 (West Virginia, Providence, Cincinnati)

****Should I stick with this or go to the Pac-10 because Psyblast is doing a Gtown legacy as well?****

One good thing about Pac-10 is that there are only 10 teams...you'd get to know the teams better. Thoughts?

even though I love the Hoyas I wouldnt mind seeing an Oregon legacy...good young guards and their team is good enough on paper to contest this year...plus games against big time players like Collinson/Love, Mayo, Lopez, Hardin, etc...

I'm leaning USC...never won a title...Mayo, Jefferson, Gibson...the CA recruiting. Sounds fun

It would be cool to see USC. But are you sure you just want to start over?

Yea I did a Gtown legacy a couple years ago and I grew REALLY tired of the Big East. A nice, cozy conference will do me good. I like the fact there are only 10 teams in the Pac-10, as opposed to 16 in the Big East. Plus, I hate playing DePaul and Providence. Every game in the Pac-10 feels like a big one. Oregon St. is the lowest team...and I know they are terrible but at least all the teams are "big name" schools.

Working on a little layout to spice up the dynasty.

i hate to admit it but you're right....almost the same with the ACC...the unbalanced schedule really effin sucks...as does playing non-traditional teams like South Florida
