Re: The Deadman Cometh -- (rookie to "Phenom")

It was awesome reading through and seeing all of those old names from the 70's and 80's.I hate to say it,but wrestling was way better then than it is now.Personally,I was a big Tony Atlas fan when I was a kid.I can still remember when Tony and Rocky Johnson took down the Samoans to win the WWF tag titles....good stuff.

"Mr. USA" himself, eh. A member of the "Soul Patrol" tag team with the Rock's dad, Rocky Johnson. From what I heard, he was as dumb as a pile of rocks. I'll add him to my list of followed wrestlers.

Back then I was a big Superstar Billy Graham and Grand Wizard fan.

My family has been pretty lucky when it came to meeting wrestlers. My brother Mike met King Kong Bundy in a small convience store in Bristol, RI a bunch of years ago. When my brother Tony was a kid, my dad had the local promoter take him into the locker room to meet a couple of wrestlers, Stan "The Man" Stasiak and High Chief Peter Maivia, Rocky Johnson's father-in-law & The Rock's grandfather. I was able to meet "Classy" Freddie Blassie. I met him when I was in high school and he was a good friend of my british literature teacher. Mr. Blassie told me that professional wrestling was 95% fake. Now, I think, it is now close to 98%. (some of the injuries are real.)

My dad, when he was younger, used to set up the ring at a small local arena and became friends of the local promoter in North Attleboro, MA.
