After being subject to a vicius check by the "Phaneuf Train", Simon Gagne was rushed off the ice and into the dressing room. It seemed like his shoulder or elbow was injured.

Zubov suspended for 4 weeks

Blazers Defencemen Sergei Zubov has been suspended for the rest of the playoffs after his Game 2 slapshot, which purposely hit Flyers Captain Mike Richards in the face. Even though Richards was not injured, Coach John Stevens had this to say "The Blazers should be cut out from the NHL, they are a group of huligans, they're being dirty and are going after our star players, that just pisses me right off" he said. "He's got no reason to say anything, the little whiner" said forward Steven Stamkos on what Flyers coach John Stevens said previosly.

Blazers Off To Cup Finals After Flying over Flyers

The Winnipeg Blazers may now wear the little "Stanley Cup Finals" patches after sweeping the Flyers in a media mad 4 games to none. John Stevens only gave credit to 1 player all series on the Blazers bench, Jason Skyland, one of the stronger choices for Team Captain next year. Jason got to be the one who was sent for the Prince of Wales Trophy. "He played hard but not dirty, that's what I like about the kid".

The Blazers will face the defending Champs, the Detroit Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Finals after the Wings beat out the Blue Jackets in a 4 to 1 series lead. Who will win the Stanley Cup, will it be the Red Wings for the 12th time in their history or will it the Winnipeg Blazers in their Cinderella story year. Find out next time.

Skyland with Prince of Wales Trophy (yea I know it's Crosby)

Blazers First Canadian Stanley Cup Winners since 1993

"It was a grueling trip, but we did it, WE'RE CHAMPIONS" was the sentence that came out of the mouth of Jason Skyland after the Winnipeg Blazers beat the Detroit Red Wings in 5 games for their first Stanley Cup in their first ever year in the NHL. Jason Skyland, maybe the first ever Captain in Blazers history, won the Conn Smythe for most valuable player in the playoffs and also lifted the Stanley Cup first then handed it off to Jaromir Jagr, his 3rd Stanley Cup in his career. "It felt like getting that present you want on Christmas, but only sweeter" said Devon Platana on winning the Cup.

Re: *Birth Of The Mighty Blazers

Niedermayer and Zubov let go to Free Agency

The General Manager of the Winnipeg Blazers kept himself busy, re-signing the players that needed re-signing, ecsepcially Brian Gionta, a solid performer in the playoffs. Yet he did decide the team needed space, so he let go of defencemen Scott Niedermayer and Sergei Zubov.

General Manager Pat Quinn () then needed a defencemen to put on a line with giant Nikola Milutinovic, so he traded scoring ace Dany Heatley to the Colorado Avalanche for defencive human wall Adam Foote. "Yes, we lost a lot of scoring touch, but we already have scorers (Skyland, Jagr, Platana, Shertok()) and we already needed a tough defencemen in Adam" said GM Quinn.

They also signed Peter Forsberg and Eric Staal.

Gionta traded for Fedorov to be signed

It was a sad day in Winnipeg when GM Quinn decided to trade right-winger Brian Gionta was traded from the Blazers. "We needed cap spcae o build up speed" said GM Quinn. He then announced the final signing of center Sergei Fedorov. Steven Stamkos also left the team thinking there was no place for him on the team anymore. Markus Naslund also came to boost up leadership on the young Blazers team. Captains will be announced after the first season game against the Buffalo Sabres.
