That's actually Ozzie Guillen. Yeah..he morphed into a mascot in a fit of rage.

Vikings 17, Bears 9...Oh Wait...

Chicago (AP) - Words can't even describe the sheer ridiculousness of this one. Just pretty much a straight out slugfest. So random. Thus, I'm not even going to attempt a write-up. We'll just defer to the Chi-Sox's mascot for commentary on this one.

Twins Continue to Feast on Awful Chi Sox Pitching

Chicago (AP) - As the headline suggests, the Twins offense picked up where they left off yesterday, albeit a little bit toned down as they rolled over the White Sox 8 to 2. Mark Buehrle struggled mightily when he pitched against the Twins last year going 1-3 in 4 stars with a 5.26 ERA and allowing 32 hits 25 IP. The Twins jumped all over him today as well forcing home 4 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks in just 4 IP. The Chi Sox pen managed to give up 4 more on 7 more hits over the last 5 innings, so the pitching edge has to go to them, even though I don't really think they were particularly effective as Wasserman and Russell gave up two runs a piece. We did luck out as we didn't have to face Danks or Floyd this series who are really their most effective starters. I don't think it would have made too much of a difference as once you get the circus act of a bullpen that the Sox have it tends to get ugly.

The Chi Sox lone runs came on a two run homer by Paul Konerko in the 7th off Twins starter Liriano. Liriano turned in a strong quality outing going 7 innings and allowing just 4 hits, 3 walks, and 2 runs. He struck out 3. Breslow and Crain closed things down relatively quietly, each giving up 1 hit and striking out two a piece. Offensively, Morneau got his first home run of the year, Punto drove in 3, and Cuddyer continues to swing a red hot bat driving in two to bring his RBI total to 7 on the young season.

The 5-2 Twins head home for a 7 game homestand with a 4 game set against the Jays and a 3 gamer against the Angels. Slowey will face off against Marcum in game one of that series. The Twins do not miss Halladay, and will face him in the 4th game of the series.

Denard Span left today's game with an undisclosed injury, but it looks like it wasn't anything serious as the medical staff has given him the okay to play tomorrow.

Holy crap, this is awesome!
I get more info here from your franchise thread than I would get from my local paper.

Twins Drop a Tough One in Extras, 7-6

Minnesota (AP) - Anytime you force extra innings after facing a closer like B.J. Ryan anything less than a win feels like a huge letdown. The Twins got a taste of that tonight as their 9th inning rally ultimately wasn't enough to get them a victory in this one. Skipping ahead to the top of the 9th, the two teams were tied at 5-5. Matt Guerrier walked himself into major trouble. He issued free passes to both Joe Inglett and Lyle Overbay. McDonald and Rios both grounded out setting up 1st and 2nd with 2 outs to Vernon Wells. Wells singled back through the box to give the Jays a 3-2 lead before Rolen K'd on a 1-2 fastball.

The Twins would quickly answer back against B.J. Ryan as Span led the bottom of the 9th off by fisting one in over the 3rd baseman's head to give the Twin's a leadoff single. Delmon Young's attempted sacrifice bunt turned into a bunt single as he popped it up into no man's land in the "bermuda triangle" between the 3rd baseman, pitcher, and catcher. Neither of the 3 were able to get to it. Joe Mauer flew out to deep right center narrowly missing a 3 run walkoff bomb but did advance Span to 3rd. Span would score on a Morneau single to left tying it up. Cuddyer and Kubel both lined out to end the inning.

The Twins had a golden opportunity in the bottom of the 11th to bring up a win as Denard Span and Joe Mauer both reached base on singles with 1 out in the inning for Justin Morneau. Morneau was unable to come through that time, however, as he grounded into a 4-6-3 double play ending the Twins walk-off bid as quickly as it started. The Jays would score their winning run the following inning in the top of the 12th. A one out double by Adam Lind followed by a groundout to 2nd base put him a runner on 3rd with 2 outs. Aaron Hill would capitalize singling into center and giving the Jays the lead.

Scott Downs was super effective in relief in extras pitching three solid innings and allowing just 3 hits. The Twins grounded out to second and third to start the bottom of the 12th. Downs would lose command of a breaking pitch and beaned Crede off the hip with 2 outs. The Twins pinch ran for Crede with Gomez and pinch hit for Tolbert with Harris. The pinch hit move almost paid off as Harris doubled off the baggy in right, but hit it just a little too hard as Gomez's attempt to score the tying run from 1st base was cut down by a strong throw from Rios in right ending the ballgame.

Hey I love your setup here. I'm trying to model my pirates franchise after yours. I was wondering how you do your box scores because I cant get mine to line up.

Great read so far. And I think you just found out first hand why the Jays are saying that Ryan might not be the closer this season and go with Downs instead haha.

Re: Lan's Minnesota Twins (The Show 09)

Alright, time to switch up my slider set. Way too easy to hit on All-Star. Hitting .343 as a team after 9 games..with the Twins not realistic at all.

Going to roll with phoenix's legend sliders from OS.

Last game I played I won 6-5 in extras but turned the game off immediately, because it just plain wasn't fun to keep ripping the hell out of everything.
