      Yankees Designate Veras

New York (AP) Relief pitcher Jose Veras has been designated for assignment by the New York Yankees as they recalled relief pitcher David Robertson from Triple-A Scranton/WB. But in other news the Yankees prepare for game 2 of their 3 game series with the Orioles. When asked about the Yankees first win of the year Manager Joe Girardi had this to say. "I think we really got off to a great start, our offense was certainly outstanding. Good to see Jorge showing a little pop in his bat, and it was very good to see Gardner out there showing off his speed." Brett Gardner had 2 bunt singles and stole 2 bases in the opener. When asked about the pitching Girardi said "It was great to see C.C. go out there and get the job done. His location was great able to keep the ball low, get ahead in the count and use his fastball to set up his other pitches. Our bullpen was very strong coming in knowing what they had to get done, coming together nicely right out of spring training." The Yankees hope for another good start out of Chien-Meng Wang in game 2.

        Yankee's Fall To The O's

New York (AP) Game 2 of the series kicked off tonight and looked promising from right out the gate, the Yankees grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first. Rich hill gave up a 2 run shot to A-Rod, his first of the year. But Baltimore battled back as Luke Scott drilled a monster 2 run shot in the bottom of the inning. The O's were able to draw the game to 3-2. Wang went 5 innings looking strong but then showing some signs of fatigue. Wang appeared to be leaving his sinker up in the zone, allowing the O's to come back to within 1 run off of a blast by Mora. By then it was a 4-3 Yankee lead. The bullpen came in to try and hold the O's to 3 but in the late innings gave up 2 more runs. The O's took a 5-4 lead and O's closer Sherrill came in to close out the game and give the O's the win. Tomorrow the Yankees will look to take 2 out of 3 in the series. They will be sending A.J. Burnett to the mound in his Yankee debut. The O's will be sending Mark Hendrickson to try and get the job done.

I am not a Yankees fan at all... Sorry, but I am sure you are used to it... I do like the players on the team though. I don't think being on a team I don't like automatically means I should hate on the guys playing for them. I think the Yankees are a team that would be fun to write a dynasty for because you can go out of the realism box a bit more when dealing with getting different players and such. I have used them in leagues because of their fire power and such and I like the uniforms. I just not a fan of buying everything, but they have every right to! Just not my style. I prefer the bring up your own talent type of things. Like Milwaukee & the White Sox, even though the White Sox are able to spend their money on some guys and to keep the big time guys they mold.

Keep it up! And don't worry about how much you put into the recaps man.. Go at your own pace and style. The way you have this set up is nice to look at. Some people prefer the shorter style so they don't spend 20 minutes just to read it all.. you know?

thanks man, yeah i will just do it the way i've been doing it so far its just easier for me. looks like all of our franchises are just kicking off so it'll be interesting to see how they turn on as time goes on. and as far as the yanks i understand most people either love em or hate em haha. but even though we do a lot of buying we do have a fair share of homegrown talent as well. We got joba and pettite, rivera and wang. ya also got posada cano and jeter and melky and gardner. so we have our fair share even mor then that, but yes we do buy as well. but now a days everyone is buying. but lets save the real life baseball talk and worry bout ourfranchises

my starting OF is Damon in left, Gardner in center, and Nady in right. Rotation is CC, Wang, Burnett, Pettite, Joba. And in the pen i have Aceves, Robertson, Albaladejo, Coke, Marte, Bruney, Rivera. You're 9-6 so far nice nice so you're a few series ahead of me. This is about the 3rd time i've restarted my franchise anyway as i was waiting for roster updates. But this game was a tough loss for me, gonna look to finish this series out on a good not now. You have a franchise thread?
