Limits to Player Editing in EA Sports College Football 25 FAQ

Team builder, if also very limited in Madden would hurt about the same as for CFB25.

I'd like to recreate Miami Hurricanes around about '94 - research and match their ratings as best possible - hit the current landscape and see what happens.

I'd like to also recreate the Houston Oilers around about the same time - Warren Moon and co at their best - research and match ratings as best possible to again drop in the current league and let it roll.

Granted, I could wait and see if EA themselves create such teams for me to use, but the core issue is still that I don't (because for too long I haven't been able to) trust their ratings, especially when paired with whatever sliders I finally figure out are close to tolerable. I don't play online (my internet in the sticks, still isn't the greatest because Elon Musk lies). I never liked MUT junk. I don't get into the streaming channel junk, either. I don't want to challenge people overseas. I don't care about anyone else's fantasy or simulation setups. I just want to set the game for me and how I actually play the game. If I didn't, I would just come over to whoever's place, plop down on your couch and watch you play.

One difference I've seen in the language that EA has used regarding Teambuilder for the college game and for Madden is, they said in Madden you are able to edit and create a roster from scratch. They didn't say that with regards to the college game. So, it's possible that with any team you make for Teambuilder in the college game that it comes with it's own generated roster. It used to be this way also, but with the ability to edit the players. I'm not sure we'll be able to do that this time around.

Just another thing we don't know until we're able to try it out for ourselves.

Yeah in NCAA 14 you picked a roster. Either a current team or one of a six (or so) generic rosters like juggernaut or cupcake. And from there, you could edit them. So it will likely be the same this time. You start with a base then edit what's there, but this time with the same editing limits you have in the CFB 25. So you can forget doing the 1994 Miami Hurricanes, or the 1999 Marshall Thundering Herd, or even your local high school team, or a current FCS team. You may be able to create the program, but not the actual roster.

But then again, we'll see.

At least we'll now see if the claims of litigation from those who (were previously) opted out - now they're opted in / contracts signed - if that was indeed EA's fear of allowing customization options in full.

Well there are still FCS players who aren’t even offered a chance to opt in who may want to create themselves and their mates. Or more importantly, that their fans would want to create. I don’t see editing limitations getting lifted anytime soon.
