Again, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt on these situations but I can't help but think it's odd.
well mass subs was added in the in-game menu for dynasty games with a few button options. it basically re-orders the depth chart to bring up 2nd string players(that made it sound easier than it probably was to make).

formations subs(as it was in older NCAA games) would need to be setup with whole interface system and setup to work for all formations in the game. I'm not saying it's super difficult to add, but it's probably not something that they would add in a patch(I would be thrilled if they did), mostly because it would take much more time to create than mass subs was. it's a time-budgeting issue, and yes, probably not high on the list for patching into CF25. at some point the team will move on to CF26(I imagine some of the team already has.)

the subs at the playcall screen is quick subs, not the same as formation subs.

Yes, it does still auto sub, unfortunately.

Good news is that when it happens you can go to this setting and it asks you if you want to sub starters back in.

I didn't even really expect mass subs but I would love it.

Re: Mass Subs are Back!

I had it auto sub for me at the half in a complete blowout which I hadn’t seen before.

Nah, I got all that. But I'm just saying that "quick subs", assuming you mean hitting triangle in the formations tab of the play call screen (it's actually just called "substitutions" in the game but I think we're on the same page) works, mechanically, exactly the same as the traditional formation subs we all know and love. It brings up a list of players currently in the specific formation that you're on when you hit triangle and you can scroll through the list which highlights the, now blank, position indicators in the visual of that formation. Selecting your HB as an example will now bring up the list of players in the depth chart for that position and you can put a different HB in that spot. The change sticks for the rest of the game; every time you select that formation, the player you subbed in at that position will be in the game.

It's why I wish it was at least available in the pause menu somehow because when I'm trying to have a committee approach at running back by putting my #2 back in for every third formation or something like that so I don't have to actually think about manually rotating throughout, I only have enough time to get through about half of the formations with the play clock running so I always have to take a timeout and finish the rest after the play clock resets. This is of course aside from the obvious fact that it's a bummer having to do this at the start of every game in the first place which circles back to why this would be a huge feature add for me (along with the many other permanent custom positions stuff I like to do like having a package for a backup running QB already setup, having different nickel defenders for blitz situations in specific formations, etc.)

I'm not trying to explain something you don't already know, it sounds like you do, just arguing that the actual system is definitely already there. Everything you could do with formation subs in the past, you can still do in the play call screen during a game. This is why it drives me even more mad that it's not an option on the main dynasty page outside of games lol.

sort of the same. Formation subs from the past, you could set and forget. don't have to do it every game.

Right lol. But that's my whole point, they already have the system and mechanic IN THIS GAME to do it, it's just not available to us anywhere outside of the play call screen where it could be set and forget for the whole season rather than each game having to go through at the beginning of the game and set it and forget it, just for that game. But you can see why there's some question as to how difficult it would be to "copy-paste" that already existing system into its own selection in the Main Dynasty hub like we've always had in other football games. Buuuuut, still, I'll give em the benefit of the doubt and just assume I'm a dummy and it is still waaaaay harder than it seems on the surface.
