The dynasty wire feature. Recruiting from your computer, writing news stories for games. It's a great looking feature. I can't wait to use it.

Re: Are You doing a dynasty?

I had planned on an off-line dynasty, but am intrigued by this solo Online deal. If a solo Online is truly just like off-line, but with added on internet features, then I will have to seriously give that a look, and probably go that route. Otherwise, off-line. I like to play at my own pace, and have never done well in leagues where I have to keep up my playing.

Re: Are You doing a dynasty?

First off, anybody can play the way that they want to, and whatever makes you happy is what you should do, this is a videogame for crying out loud. That said, I'm amazed so many of you guys go it alone. I always did that and loved it, but once OD came out playing a dynasty by myself got really boring. I mean there is no challenge in that at all, even when you try to build up a one star, you know exactly how it's gonna go. You'll eventually do it and win all the time.

In the OD I'm in, we have 12 guys that take the game seriously and play it right, so it's perfect. Usually play 2-3 games a week, so it's not too much. If you need to play more, then join another dynasty or start your own offline. It's awesome to have to fight like hell against other guys for recruits, then beat a few other guys out for them, or even lose on one. The user games are insanely intense, and winning the championship means you won 3-5 user games through the season and in the title game, it's 100 times more gratifying than beating the cpu 10 years in a row. Just makes it an amazing experience.

I know finding a good group isn't always easy, but geez, I'd think with all the guys here that love the game it wouldn't be that hard to find a few other guys that have similar needs as you, whether it's one game a week or 1 a day, etc. Like I said, not for me to judge how you like to do this, but I think you're really missing out if you don't try to get into a good OD.

My problem is I can't find a GROUP that is mature and serious enough...I guess I am just too damn old!
come check out www.traditionfootball.com we are mostly older group and demand maturity and sportsmanship out of our members. We have a ton of first time OD players that won't play offline anymore because of the community we have.

Re: Are You doing a dynasty?

I'm getting the game solely for my offline dynasty. I know there is the whole Madden talk of "not many people play offline dynasty", but I love it. The problem with Online Dynasty and my group of friends is that we'll play maybe three to four games, then totally zone out and forget about it

Thanks for clearing that up. Does not sound like it is for me though. When I'm at work (Teacher/Coach) I have very little down time and use my planning time to grade test and papers so I don't have to do that at home when I'm with my family. Writing my own stories would be cool but once again the time is just not there for me. I guess I will stay with the offline dynasty like in years past. Wish they had this stuff when I was younger and in college and had tons of time. I remember sitting around the dorm room playing NCAA 2002 on the PS2 with 2 other guys doing a dynasty. The online stuff would have been great for us.
