    NCAA 13: First Community Event

    Tradition Sports Online has been invited to the first community event for NCAA 13 in just a few weeks. We wanted to invite you guys here at Operation Sports to add to our current list we have going here in our forums.

    Please feel free to post your suggestions here or at TSO and we will compile a list of the most requested and realistic ideas/improvements that are presented and present them directly to EA over the next 3-4 months as the events unfold.

    All i ask is that you keep this productive and positive in working towards a better game for 13. I understand some of the frustration around 12.. and it's justified. I'm hoping for a rebound year and it can start here.

      (Without trying to make this be a wishlist):
      1. CPU Play calling. It seems like the CPU knows your play calls. There are plays where you can SOMETIMES get off, but most of the time are 90% chance of failure.
      2. CPU's ability to change on a dime and break up a play. Main issue is bad to average players doing it.
      3. OL sliding NEEDs to be fixed. I see so many sack oppurtunities missed out when OL slides after mindlessly are waiting for a DL to shed a block.Eliminate Jump Snap.
      4. would like to see NCAA 13 completely redo commentary and continue improving on GameTrack. also the more stat overlays the better.
      5.Either Passing Arch or LB jumping has to be fixed. If there is a WR/TE open 20+ down the field, I should get it over the head over of a LB 5-10 yards if he is not a stud 6. Better Ball Carrier Logic. Players run the ball like they have tunnel vision. They need to be aware of possible blocks. There should be more WOW plays.
      7. Swat needs fixing. At times when I push it there is a lag causing me to miss out on breakups. jump ratings should have a major effect on swats.
      8. Users and CPU should be able to make plays on balls that are dropped or muffed by WR/TEs. It seems like there is a lag.
      9. Weather should have a bigger impact. Wind should affect passes. There should be more Drops.
      10. Unrealistic how the ball looks when it leaves the QB hands.

      1-5 are VERY important to me

            Request passing tweaks(trajectory,aim), pass rush tweaks(DE/OLB and NOT DT being the main rushers) and CPU ball carrier logic and attributes especially on option plays of all types. More diverse recruits and actual multi position athlete recruits.

            Also Madden's trait system or something similar.

            Visually, more hairstyles even if its just Polamulu and Clay Matthews style hairs. Color base cleats.

              Be able to give players double numbers on default rosters.

              Fix the freezing in Dynasty mode.

                Definitely agree on the DT pass rush. It seems like the DTs are the only consistent source of pressure. I had a DE lead the nation in sacks last year and currently in this season, but DTs are the main pass rusher.
                They should add a Pass Rush rating and a Rush Stop rating

                  1. Add penalty animations and logic for OFF/Def pass int, roughing kicker, int grounding penalties.

                  2. Overhaul the special teams play. Punt/fg block, punt/KO return, and punting styles (rugby ect) it would be nice to see some of the exotic punt formations as well.

                  3. Ball carrier animations added to. Stiff arm, spin, truck, fumble animations need to have more added to the current number of animations. They need to be tuned as well. Juke stick more responsive and able to string together jukes/spins

                  4. Wr/db interaction animations need way more to add to the challenge of the game.

                  5. Player graphics need a lot of work. Players look fat and non athletic or just plain small. Need to "redraw" what the athletes look like from the way shoulder pads and leg pads look to the the actual physical bodies themselves.

                  6.cpu gameplan against human needs retooling to be more competitive.

                  7. Ability to choose our team captains in dynasty (impact players are different than captains)

                  8. Intros sound and camera work redone to be more exciting and realistic instead of the dull roar it is now. So pregrame presentation needs a lot of work.

                  9. ****pass types need overhaul. Trajectory and types of throws need to be retooled. Drill, vs lob, vs reg throwtypes

                  10. Retooled or more intuitive ratings for players across the board

                  11. Touchdown and big play celebrations need to receive a whole lot of love.

                  13. EA needs to change/implement gameplan strategy for schools that actually resemble the schools actual play style as well as Coaches need some attire that looks right and more team related instead of so generic.

                  14. Either the Players or the field need to be scaled properly to capture the size of the field. Currently the field looks way to small hence why post corners hardly work if at all and the spread isnt nearly as deadly as it should be due to the tight space. I would say make the field bigger although some would say make the players appear smaller. Either way you get the point. Scale one or the other

                    To add further,

                    (1) - Fix TeamBuilder to Dynasty integration so you can use all the recruiting promises, and enhance TeamBuilder so we can have more generic stadium options, generic mascots, and perhaps the ability to choose a "custom tradition" for your fans like Pitt's Sweet Caroline or the wave, or the bootline at Texas A&M.
                    (2) - Ability to replace all 123 teams in Dynasty Mode with TeamBuilder teams.
                    (3) - PLEASE fix passing trajectory. It was just about perfect on NCAA 2006 on the XBOX / PS2. This should fix the super linebackers.
                    (4) - Better WR / DB interactions. WR's should go up and get the ball. Make the back shoulder throw a viable part of the game.
                    (5) - Wider camera view or ability to select camera view so we can see the whole line of scrimmage. Also, re-scale the field and players. The players should be much smaller in comparison to the field. This will accurately enable the modern spread options to be more effective.
                    (6) - Fix some of the broken play concepts like read option and the defensive back glitch during the option.
                    (7) - Fix any tendency glitch issues for current rosters and recruits.
                    (8) - Fix custom playbook glitches so the feature can be used to full capacity.


                    I'll post more later.

                      Where to start.

                      1. Fix the blocking. Have FB's/pullung guards/tackles actually wrap up inside instead of stopping in the hole or blocking outside.
                      2. Bring zone blocking in the game.
                      3. Fix the db's that can have their back turned but yet make a psychic play on the ball.
                      4. Make the game where strategy is a factor. For example, i can recognize cover 2 pre-snap and know ecactly what to run(fade & post on 1 side. Dig combo on the other with a rb holding the linebackers). Make that worth something instead of the safety being able to play both.
                      5. Speaking of coverages, make it disquisable. Awareness ratings become a factor here. Smarter the db's the better they hide the coverage pre snap.
                      6. Be able to customize hot routes. Brings more strategy to the game.
                      7. You guys are gonna like this one. In online dynasties, install a feature where you are able to see your next opponents fav play(i,e most run play on offense and defense) and practice against it, earning points for properly executing, defending it, therefore when the play is run in the game, the players recognize, and have a greater chance in properly executing/defending. This would also help online commish's catch cheesers. For ex, if someone fav play this year was the wildcat spread, pa jet sweep. This is the only feature i really want to see in the game.

                          Fix the recruiting. I'm tired of seeing 30 five star WR's and no 5 star linemen. How did EA not notice this? I mean wtf was going on when testing this game?

                              Presentation:
                              -We have Fictional players, fictional coach's, now how about"Fictional Broadcast Teams".
                              Some type of play-by-play commentary with excitement of plays, players.

                              -Utilize exclusive ESPN license you purchased, have yet to use correctly.

                              -Replace numbered rating with the measurments that "ACTUAL" football uses
                              (ie 40-Dash, 20-shuttle, Verticle etc...)

                              -Be able to go out in a Pre-game and practice kicking FG/Punts, throwing ball around etc...
                              (with custom stadium music bumping)

                              Gameplay-Gameplay-Gameplay:
                              -Field-to-Player proportion has been killing this game since being on Next-Gen.

                              There simply is no room for plays/animations to develope properly.

                              The main driver for all the warping/sliding as animations must play out quickly in a small box to give the perception of a play running correctly.

                              -If Special Teams in not "Overhauled" across the board, your just plainly milking the gamming community, period.

                              You must Mo-Cap separate blocking for ST, it's different blocking technique, different block-attempt movements through the line, different formations etc...

                              Longsnappers are not OL.
                              Just like for QB's throw power, LS should have variance in ball snapping speed. (ie a Rating)

                              Get rid of the kicking meter, hide leg strength rating, force gamer to learn kicker's distance through practice attempts using RS as leg. (or option to have current style)

                              Get rid of the sissy-patty cake standing blocking animation.
                              Take a look at the contact in Backbreaker's Special Team play.
                              There are no created lanes because of this girly animation.

                              Give gamers the ability to choose different ST Schemes and to choose FG/Punt Block from Left/Right/Middle.

                              Make wind have a greater affect on kicked balls.
                              No more automatically lining up the returner to catch the ball.

                              Get rid of General returner classification.
                              Punt returners are different than KR's.
                              Two different types of returners.
                              KR need to be fast, mostly straight.
                              PR need to be quick, lots of change of direction.

                              -Stamina
                              Physical attritbutes (ie SPD/ACC/STR etc..) should have a negative Dynamic impact during a long play or no-huddle drive.

                              Should be incorporated with ACC to decide how long a player's burst would be during a play instead of the 100% burst usage until the end of the play.

                              Instead of 0-99 scale, Stamina would be represented by yardage available for burst (ie 5yr, 10yrd, 15yrd, 20yrd to max 25yrd)

                              -QB
                              Different throwing animations that release the ball at different speeds.

                              Get rid of throw acc rating as it's redundant with a slider for this.

                              Just like in Def play art, use circles to represent QB accuracy to 3 levels (ie short, medium, long) with 2 locations (ie middle, outside) at each level.

                              Size of circle for each level/location will be Dynamic and stat driven.

                              When throwing to a WR heading into that level/location, the ball will be heading to various size circles (ie smallest=more accurate through largest=less accurate)

                              Traits consisting of Scrambler, Pocket, Option (QB can have 1,2 or all 3 traits)
                              Scrambler = Runs to move the ball
                              Pocket = Passes to move the ball
                              Option = Uses misdirection to move the ball

                              Priority at which QB looks use is dictated by the order of the Trait
                              Examples:
                              Oregon QB = Option/Pocket/Scrambler
                              Ohio St QB = Scrambler/Pocket
                              Navy QB = Option/Scrambler
                              Houston QB = Pocket
                              Fresno St QB = Pocket/Scrambler

                              I'll stop before this turns into 10 pages.
