IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE YOUR RTG PLAYBOOK IN NCAA 14

I love NCAA Football. I hate that there wasn't a NCAA 15. So, lately I've started back playing NCAA 14. With all the modding I've seen as far as adding a playoff scenario, has anyone figured out how to change your playbook in RTG??? I mean, come on, if a playoff system can be added, isn't there a way to change the playbooks in RTG? I would appreciate anyone who knows a way to let me know.

There is a way, yes.

It cannot be a RTG with a Team Builder School imported. You will need to load your RTG on your computer and modify it using the EA DB Editor.

Well, to do this you will need to select one of several options. Again, you will need to be using an RTG file that does not have a Team Builder team imported. I would also recommend having a default roster file available for reference.

1. Figure out what playbook you want, i.e., what default, preloaded playbook you want.
2. Load the roster file and click over to the Coaches tab. Locate the coach with the playbook you want. Locate the Offensive Playbook field. The playbook will be represented by a number; make note of that number.
3. Close the roster.
4. This next part can be complicated especially if one is a novice user of the EA DB Editor. You will need to create a config for your RTG file (File -> Create Config). Load that config and then load the RTG file. You will locate the tab which corresponds to coaches--however, tabs and fields are only labeled with abbreviations. If one is intrinsically motivated so, they could load Xan's config in Notepad, Wordpad, etc., and search for the appropriate abbreviations to identify the tabs and fields of interest.

When I have time, sometime within the next 36 hours, I am willing to post a config file that loads only the Coach tab and has the playbook field identified.

Attached some config files.

RTGconfig has a couple fields with information about high school teams and such.

RTGcoach has the coach info. I believe the coach of the team your RTG player is on, those coaches are at the bottom of the file. However, there are multiple options and not sure which one is exact. But if you switch the playbooks and then launch 'practice', that screen shows which offensive playbook you are practicing with.

The RTGplaces config allows you to edit cities and stadia.

The RTGgame options config is labelled with fields which can be edited. Some of which are the AI/Penalty sliders in the game--don't alter those in the file unless you have first altered them in the game via the console. Other options, which you would not see in the in Sliders/AI/Penalties in game are labeled and can be edited.
