Now while I agree with you about the probable arcade nature of the impact cam, I disagree with your interpretation of NCAA as a pure sim. EA games have always, and probably will always straddle the fence between sim and arcade. They placate just enough to each camp, so as to get everyone to buy the game with the hope that one day "all the arcady"/"all the boring sim stuff"- will be gone. I think they feel they've made a good game if both sides are whinning about some things, but still play the game.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

AND your suprised?? they do this every year. I wish they would sales pitch 06' to say..
deeper dynasty mode and added recruiting features.
refined gamplay and AI to address some issues
revamped presentation and menus for a new style
added new commentary
100's of new animations and player moves

The casual gamer ala 15 yr old would say sounds boring I'll play 05' and let mommy fork out 50 for some other gane I want.

But whe they say.. new zoom in -in the zone cam with slow motion moves the casual gamer ala the ones who read the back of the box b/f they buy it would want this game.

Like the post above states its marketing to all gamers.

Hmmm...I will wait and hold out my judgement on this but I am skeptical. The thing that REALLY worries me though is this: what if we don't like the option and want to turn it off, but it is a feature that we cannot turn off for online play?

Look, whether we like it or not EA still must cater to the "average" gamer. While I am skeptical at best with the feature I will at least look at it before crushing it. What we want(unrivaled realism) is not what the average joe wants(points galore and gimmicks), sad but true.

A lot of "hardcore gamers" absolutely loved NFL 2k5, in spite of (or because of...)the fact that breaking tackles frequently came down to a button-mashing contest.

A wise person would reserve judgement on this at least until we get more info.

Re: Are they kidding about this feature?

because it's easy. It's like when you take a flight and EVERYTHING is perfect. The flight, the times, the baggage etc. We never call to say great job. We only call when things go wrong or against what we want. Truth is EA has taken some chances with features and some have worked(dynasty, hfa, etc.) While others have been silly garbage(camera shake, hit stick, etc.) I said it above, what hard core gamers want and what EA's main audience want are two differant animals.

Because most of the features they implement are worthless. They don't change anything that is wrong gameplay wise, they just add features that will appeal to 12 year olds.
