It depends on a couple things...

For the Xbox, they MUST fix the slowdown and dropped ball issues. If those aren't fixed, I will go back to the PS2.

I could do either and be happy. I like the Xbox graphics, load time, and analog controls, but I like the PS2 controller a lot more overall. We'll see, but it's a definite lean towards the Xbox.

For baseball, IMO you HAVE to own a PS2 to play MLB 2006. You're right, that game is SO great; it and GOW are the only games I'm playing right now as far as consoles go. That freezing this IS a bust though...

Bk, I see exactly your point about who you play is a lead determination. I've looked online, and have very favorable results with PS2 leagues. With included headset support, it just doesn't really feel different than XBL.

As far as overall support goes, XBL wins hands down. The fact that they can patch a game and save it is incredible (NBA 2k5) but I still feel (and this is besides the point) that a game shouldn't be released with an issue in the first place that needs saving.

But man... what I wouldn't give for a "patch" for MLB 2006....

Problem with PS2 network is not that many people have a headset,and the sound quality isn't as good. And I have a noticeble decrease in network performance when I play on the PS2 network when compared to XBL. However that could in fact be due to my unique setup, or just the bandwidth in my area. I believe XBL is a thinner network client even with the audio packets.

Great point. Although in the leagues I've played in a majority have the headset, not everyone does.

Didn't think of that. Again, great point.

Personally, I have not felt any difference in speed w/ XBL and PS2 between two broadband users.... just a faster startup, which I believe is due to the shorter load times.

I own both systems and I agree with a majority of the previous posts indicating that the xbox is the superior system. I always buy RPG's, fighting games and most others for xbox if they are released on all consoles, however, I always buy NCAA and Madden on the PS2. The shoulder buttons on the PS2 just feel better to me when I play NCAA. Just my .02 cents
