Official Release Date Thread

Just ordered from DVDPlanet. Hopefully they'll just ship out on the 28th unlike brick and morter stores who will hold off until the 11th or 12th. Still 10 bucks cheaper with overnight shipping then buying it from a store....and if it's available in stores first, my cousin next door will be buying it the more traditional way so no biggie.

Its just a guess. As for DVDs being comparable, the marketing spent on the release of DVDs is bigger than what EA spends on NCAA (another guess) and the release date is a big part of that. If a DVD sits in a box it doesn't really hurt its sales. Video games get dated and face competition as they sit in boxes. Its always been a race to get the sports game out as soon as possible particularly because of how old the rosters start to look. You may be right but I don't think its exactly the same. Its a moot point anyway because when the game does come out, nobody will be talking about the release date anymore.

I figured that would happen. Oh well, I'm still saving $15...and waiting a couple of extra days isn't going to kill me.

But if we have overnight shipping it should still come on the 12th right?

In the email recipt it said that no matter what type of shipping you choose that it should arrive by your door around the street date. Im asuming since they are going to get it on the 28th they will have plenty of time to ship the regular shipping so that it arrives on our doors the 12th, and for those who choose overnight then they will probably wait a few days be fore the release and send it to you.
