But the bottom line is defense wins championships and offense sells tickets...or in this case games.

Good point that an OSU/PSU game shouldn't be a 55-35 game. But it also depends on what YOU do as far as playcalling goes. Are you calling the game the same way OSU does or do you just throw the whole time? Maybe you can make better reads the Zwick does in real life (or are smart enough not to play him )

So you can compare to real life, but it also matters what the guy holding the controller does. He could be better/worse then the team he's using, giving sometimes 'unrealistic' scores.

Hey, as long as its fun, then I'll be happy w/the game.

I hope it ends up being a mix between 2004 and 2005. 2004 was almost like arena football: way too easy to run, way too easy to pass, way too easy to score. 2005 was toned down quite a bit, mostly because of superhuman DBs, but it was still possible to score tons of points in almost every game with almost every team.

Great point! But to counter that point is what the whole thing I was trying to say teams that are normally not successfull throwing bombs all day regardless of who's calling the plays cpu or human it should not be successfull this is where the AI comes into play like we are all talking about and the defense should prevail most of the times. Keeping the ball in the middle of the field forcing you to dink and dunk and run or in other words using the strength of the team.

What we all don't want is exactly the oposite..the dude behind the controller dictating the type of game rather than the teams strengths dictating the game.

Bottom line a good sim game in other words. To give an example of what we don't want is in say MVP a guy hitting bomb afetr bomb just because he hits up on the stick!

There is no compromise, the good players are going to dominate the cpu regardless.

People arent complaining about the one big pass play, but the fact that in some of the previous years, thats all you had to do. Sure, its part of the game, but its rediculous when the bomb is 40% of your offense.

How many times does the average college football team throw the ball down the field over 30 yards? Probably less than 5 times per game.

How many times does it happen in previous versions of NCAA? Probably about 10-15 times per game, depending on the team.

And lets not get started on the actual percentage of completed bombs in NCAA(roughly 50%) vs the percentage of completed +30 yd passes in real college football(about 20%).

Heck, in NCAA, you complete more bombs and deep passes per game than most real college football teams attempt.

Thats not "part of the game". Games that end 63-56 are not even a facsimile of real college football, and NCAA will be a major disappointment if the "wide open" play turns the game into the last guy with the ball wins.

I'm really hoping that the sliders will help solve this problem.
