Re: NCAA Football 06 Review (Xbox)

Thanks for the in-depth review that the true gamers here are looking for. I used to be an IGN whore ... just waiting for their release of the reviews. Then when they praised 2005 - I lost all respectablity.

I think the words "This edition (2005) is far superior than it's predecessor..." are the ones that stuck with me the most. (I think I just threw up in my mouth again...)

Anyway - back on topic ... good stuff Clay and to all of you at OS. This is what I came here for and you guys deliver all the time.

True dat. In the end it's just one person's opinion. Best thing is to buy or rent the game and form your own opinion. People get their panties in a wad too much.

Don't thank me...Mark Fossen wrote it. I'm just trying to keep the topic on point and not get tied up into a "what's the difference between a 4 and a 4" thing.

With 989’s canceling of the "GameBreaker" series for the year, and still no word of any future plans of a Sega College game we’re only given “NCAA 2005” to fill our college football needs this season. It just happens to work out well since it’s hard to imagine anyone doing a better job of developing a full college football experience than what EA has done. Sure if you look hard enough you’re going find a couple of problems with the game here or there, but despite a couple of minor flaws “NCAA 2005” should be right there in the mix competing with the other games on the market for the ever so coveted “Stevie” for this year’s best football game or possibly even Game of the Year.

this quote gave me goosbumps reading. Completely the opposite of what Ncaa 2005 was to me.-

If you have enjoyed this game in the past, its highly unlikely your feeling for this iteration will be any different. EA Tiburon has added depth to the series with the addition of Home Field Advantage, composure and Xbox Live. Despite a few pit falls, “NCAA 2005” is a solid rendition of college football.
I agreed with his review. NCAA 05 was the game of the year for me. Even beat out Ghost Recon 2(barely)

I disagree with that. NCAA 05 was a huge letdown. I was very disappointed.

To each his own. But I played that game through April.

I agree, I had the ps2 version and I was happy with the game, but to each their own.

I also agree. Yes the game had some faults but I played it(XBOX) up until about a month or so ago when I finally traded it in.
