I just got the game last night, so I haven't finished a full season yet, so maybe it's too early to judge. But I'm just wondering... anyone else feel like the RFTH feature is overrated?

The "tryout" is pretty lame... it takes all of 60 seconds, and you get offers from three schools... which really don't matter, because you can go wherever you want, anyway, and it doesn't make any difference as to how the mode plays out. Then, once you're in the mode, it plays the same as any other, just with fewer things to do between games.

I'm just wondering, what's the difference between this, and just creating myself and putting me on my favorite team?

The only reason I could think of that RFTH mode would be preferable is the dorm room... but there really isn't much there. If it worked more like ESPN NFL's Crib feature, where you could decorate and make your own improvements, it might be cool. But all I have is a picture of my lovely girlfriend, and I have a feeling I'm going to have to leave her next year as a sophomore, which is a shame, because she's such a sweet sweet girl... I love her, even if her grill is a little busted.

Anyway... other than that, I'm loving and enjoying the game. I think the gameplay is outstanding, and visually, the game is off-the-charts. But I was just wondering if anyone else thought the RFTH mode was way more hype than substance.

I like what it is. It gives me a reason to play offline, when Im normally a online only player. I dont get into dynasty which is more tedious then anything IMO. This mode has been a lot of fun and is unique.

Its fun using a defensive player. You get a tackle and its exciting. I about leaped in the air with joy when I got my first INT lol.

It's a dynasty mode for people who don't want to concern themselves with all the details of running a program. Frankly, I don't believe that we (i.e. the typical OS poster) are the target audience for this feature. It's aimed at the casual folks who would never dream of commiting the time necessary to play in dynasty mode.

Are Heisman mode and Dynasty mode seperate? Can you do both at once?

I thought I read in the IGN review that you don't control the dynasty when you're a player but once you graduate you become the coach and pickup regular dynasty mode from there.

I may be wrong though, it's happened once or twice before.
