Conference invites nearly impossible?

In my created team sim dynasty, I started out as a 1A Independent replacing Temple. I've had numerous 9-3 seasons before going 12-0 this year (beating 5 ranked teams in the process), finishing the season ranked 2nd in the country by both the coaches and media (Finished 5th in the BCS so I was sent to the Peach Bowl). Despite all of this, I still haven't gotten a single conference invite. You'd think the Sunbelt would at least be interested in a 4-star program with 3-star academics that just went undefeated the previous year. Has anyone actually been invited to a conference out of 1A Independents this year? Last year, one winning season was good enough for most mid-major conferences to give you an invite.

I was invited to the SEC to replace Kentucky after 3 years of 10-2, 11-1, and 12-0 seasons as an independent. I believe it's more random this year along with a team needing to have an awful season in the conference you get invited to.

Yeah, and I also wonder if it might be just a little harder if you're an Independent. Unless, of course, you're Notre Dame. Program prestige may have something to do with it, too. What is your current Program prestige level?

I think to get invited another team in the conference has to be kicked out, so its all about timing.

Re: Conference invites nearly impossible?

My UL Monroe team just got invited into the WAC from the Sun Belt, replacing SJSU.

Re: Conference invites nearly impossible?

Last year (2005 game), my created team got invited to the MAC after a single 9-3 season (after seasons of 1, 2, 2, and 3 wins). After winning the MAC twice, they went to the Big Ten. But it was weird, because Indiana was in the midst of a 23 game losing streak, but my team replaced Illinois (4-8) instead. Weird.

havent' gotten that far in 06 to compare.
