I know on these boards I have heard many of you including myself complain that this years title has a significant dropped ball problem. To the extent of my Impact WR dropping 6 -10 balls a game. Sure I expect 1 maybe 2 from a guy with a rating above 95 CTH, yet I have experienced way too many. Some claim we hate EA, or are quitting, or plain out suck, yet were trying to go to those close enough to the game for a tidbit of insight on why they are struggling, when most of us havent had the dropped ball plague before.

I never suffered the NCAA 2005 dropped ball plague that many harped about. So it brought me to sit down with 2006 and find WHY others in this forum as well as I are having QB completion % in the low 40's high 30's.

User Error:
- Sure with the new passing system you need to lead the reciever, put some touch on your passes. I have done this and I thought it 5 times to an open wide reciever and guess what he drops it. Much like your SS drops a duck thrown right to him by the opposing QB. Many accuse 'USERS SUCK' which isnt exactly the way most of us want to get treated, we just want answers, ideas, some type of help without being ridiculed.

User Catch:
Many have suggested to catch the ball by controlling the WR. Yet the WR will still drop a wide open pass across the middle. Not once but quite a few times.

So then It came to deciding what to do. Put QB Acc and WR Catch to 99 on AA sliders...Or figure out what is the problem of the game or my own approach to the game.

Viola!!! WR Composure is the frieking problem. When throwing the ball to a WR whith no composure his likely hood of droping the ball is high. Logical correct? While throwing to a WR with half or low composure you will see that he still drops a few that he 'should have' caught. Then theres full composure where your WR will catch almost anything he can his hands on including deep balls, triple coverage and the such...

So I dont have a solution the problem except be aware of your WR's composure and trying running the ball to get your WR's composure up. Or take a time out and give those WR's a piece of your mind...Only things I can think of to fix the problem of WR's getting a little rattled and dropping too many balls...

so what explains when you have a senior rated 99 with 99 catch and full composure dropping wide open passes?

i guess its user error............i dont believe this though.

I feel you fellow Trojan...

You probably talking about Dwayne dropping well everything in site...I had the same issues with him. I dont know what the issue is with the game...But i did see an improvement when trying to lead the reciever and such...I liked *gulp* last years passing game more than this years...but oh welll...composure is the only thing I can relate...but wide open passes, soft,medium or hard shoulnt be dropped...

I will keep looking into it and posting some more news when it becomes of substance

Have you guys tried turning on the catch assist in the ai. This seems to keep drops at a more liveable rate. I too was having a problem when David Thomas, a 90 something rated tight end for Texas, dropped four passes in one game. I had 12 dropped passes the entire game. Anyways, give that a shot and see if it helps.

Just a thought. Do you suppose WRs drop the ball to make the completion percentage more normal. I think this is EAs lazy way to ensure incomplete passes. Honestly, I'd rather see "computer generated" overthrows or underthrows. There should be a lot more bad throws in this game — just like the real game.

This definitely helps. I tried it last night and it was like I turned the User Catching slider up to 200. It helped out big time. The best part is that it doesn't turn all your receivers into Jerry Rice, either. They'll still drop a few, but it's much less. In two games last night with this enabled I averaged about 2-3 drops per game. Before this, I was averaging about 5-6.

Thanks to the guy in the thread a day or two ago who suggested this. I had forgot all about the EasyPlay stuff.
