Anyone else have a problem with a shortage of Defensive Tackles in recruiting? I often get stuck with walk-ons, and an occasional recruit. But I find it very hard to find a worthwhile DT to recruit because there just seems to be a lack of them...

I've discovered that the Athlete position makes good DT's. Try that out and see if it helps. It sure has in mine.

If your defense is ranked low, they may not want to go to your school.

And yes, I've found the 6'2" 300+ lbs ATH make good DT. If they weren't so slow, i'd try to use them as DE...only becuase i like running the 3-4.

I've found a DT or two in the ATH section of recruiting too. I hit both of them pretty hard when I did my last round of recruiting and come out pretty good.

Also, if you have a shortage, you might want to switch over to a 3-4 to keep a crappy DT off the field.
