Bowl Ban.......

Has anyone received a bowl ban yet or seen a CPU controlled team receive one? Last year I saw several different types of penalties however this year it seems like the only sanctions are 10 less scholarships for 2 years.

Re: Bowl Ban.......

I had my probation meter filled out last year, got like 20 less scholies, no tv games and no bowl games. Yet my team still went undefeated that year and I went to the National Championship game. I don't know if that was just a glitch that allowed me into the BCS Champ Game or what, but the probation didn't make a difference, the only difference I saw was the national championship game was not "broadcasted" on tv, even though it was the champ game. Funny ain't it?

Re: Bowl Ban.......

Supposedly since NCAA 2005 when they put in the whole discipline system, they have had the "death penalty" in there, but I havent seen it, Id really like to see it happen in the game to some random program just to see the effect.

In the second year of my dynasty with Carolina, Cal went on probation but still was in the top 5 the entire year and I think won the Rose Bowl. The probation didnt really hurt their program at all either, as Im now in my 10th season and they have been in the hunt for the national title nearly every season. I guess thats kind of realistic because in real life, Alabama went on probation a few years back and they are back where they used to be as a top 25 team now.

The discipline system itself is weird. The computer recommends to me that I suspend a player for a few games for skipping a class, which in my opinion is too harsh. It seems if I dont do at least the CPU recommended suspension, the NCAA meter goes up a lot for something minor like that, then when you do have a major offense, like a guy getting too cozy with a booster or hiring someone to take an exam and you do the recommended punishment, the meter doesnt go up. It seems like even though you did punish the player, your program should come under a lot more scrutiny for having a major problem versus what actually happens with more scrutiny for a smaller offense.
