Ideally, I'd like to see 07 include a create a playoff, even if that just meant allowing you to choose the number of teams.

And for real NCAA Football, I think a final four is the way to go. Four teams is just enough not to belittle the season, and enough to help remove controversy... I mean, I really don't think there'll be a time that more than four teams can say they should deserve a shot at playing for the national championship...

Though I guess there's always gonna be teams "on the fence", who ultimately would get left out, regardless the number... But I think four teams seems right.

That's what I think too. The NCAA might well be preventing a playoff in the game as part of the licensing deal. They keep insisting the BCS is working and whatnot and they're probably sick of the controversy.

My guess is the games with the playoffs were with the previous licensing deal, which most likely occured before the BCS' inception. WHen it was time to renew, the NCAA said "No more playoffs in the game." That's just my hunch though.

I'd agree with this theory. I know they had EA take out fans storming the field after an upset.

That may be the case. But the BCS is not run by the NCAA. I remember that they used to have the BCS licnese in the game from the 2002 version, but not since.

NCAA 2004 was going to have the fans storm the field and tear down the goal posts when a team had a big upset win at home. They even published a picture of it, but the NCAA made them take it out.
