Is there any game ever more anticipated than NCAA football?

I think part of that has alot to do with the general public knows who most of the star players are, etc on the pro teams. Its a symptom of the casualitis I guess..and with that said, this is part of the same reason why a "generic" football game is doomed to fail as far as making good sales numbers to the general playing public.

I agree.

College football is my favorite sport. Its just so exciting! After being to a few Dallas Cowboys games and many OU games I can say that from my experience the OU games were a lot more exciting. Fans seem to be more into the game, the crowd is louder, etc.

Maybe if I lived in a pro market I would view things differently but in Oklahoma we don't have any pro teams so college football is king.

yeah i think too the QB#10 thing really turns off alot of people who want it to say T.Smith or whatnot. In general NFL just also has more fans than NCAA although not as rabid!

Yes. Living here in Philadelphia Eagles country, you would definitely feel differently..

I am a football fanatic so I get excited to see football period. Usually I would buy the NCAA game to tide me over until the Pro game was released. That was back in the day when the folks at VC were in the game. I'm sure I will buy Madden for my pro fix, but right now my anticipation is solely on the NCAA game..

I agree on this also. The 2K series was really getting some steam, especially after 2K5. I think most would agree that's why it hurt so bad when Madden got the rights.

Back to NCAA though, one of the things that makes it so anticipated is the fact that they have had a good amount of time to work on it, so many are really wanting to see what it will be like.

NCAA Football kicks off not only the sports gaming season, but the gaming season, Not many games are released this time of year and NCAA is the biggest game of July. Sales charts for the last few years prove that out. College football fans are fanatics and this game generates a lot of enthusiasm.

Some anticipate Madden more, but the excitement for me is lessened a little bit by the fact that even though I pick up Madden on release day, by the weekend I am usually back to playing NCAA nonstop.

Once I have NCAA, it seems like the sports games just start rolling out. Madden comes out long before I tire of NCAA, and the pro hockey and basketball games are out before I am even thinking about those sports. I buy and enjoy those games, but I don't actually check release dates until we talk about the college basketball games later in the fall.

Halo just doesn't do it for me. Personally, I am more interested in the Half Life series than Halo. But I realize I am in the minority in that opinion.
