Is there a solution to names appearing online?

actually, the NCAA taking this away might be right. you cant buy college jerseys with the name and numbers matched, so i guess they could say that its not allowed in the video game either

But EA doesn't sell these or make a profit off of this. There is no profit made by others at the expense of others. Thats why the rosters are "free"

Honestly, I do see your point and see where you are coming from. I realize a huge amount of focus was put in certain areas of this game, and had to be really, since it is the first version on the 360. That said, I still don't believe "next gen" has to be addition by subtraction. Don't forget that their technology in development/code/graphic software grows by leaps and bounds too!?! All in all, with the resources of EA in mind, I just don't buy your contention. No point arguing over something we can't control anyway.

I'm just frustrated as a consumer...just venting over it.

Yeah, but you could take that jersey to a store and get a name placed on there.

Artists work on graphics, engineers work on gameplay/features. They are not mutually exclusive!

I doubt this is an NCAA issue or any type of conspiracy. My guess:

EA's "QA" team screwed up and didn't test this or caught it too late to get a fix in
OR
EA's couldn't figure out a way to keep things fair with "edited" rosters in online play, so resorts to out of the box configurations.

Either way, I'd be embarrassed if I were a developer for EA.

Not sure if you guys are still wondering or not but someone at MaddenMania named Marino (Very known and trusted guy) confirmed rosters do appear online for PS2. So current gen does still have it.
