How's the recruiting?

One thing I felt really needed improving last year was the recruiting. I always started with small schools and tried to build them up to land better jobs. Problem was this became too easy because of the recruiting. It was just way too easy to land good recruits at crappy schools.

Has anyone played enough to see if this has been improved at all? What about current gen recruiting vs. next gen? I feel making the recruiting tougher would add great challenge to the game and really bring on a sense of accomplishment turning that 2 star school into respectable team.

Any replies are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: How's the recruiting?

It seems a lot harder IMO.

I'm using Rutgers so I know it should be hard to begin with, but it seems even with a winning record (5-1) it's hard to impress your recruits. I spread out my points with good margin, and I don't know. I luckily have 6 out of my original 12 recruits left going into week 8.

My guess is that once FK gets his rosters out, you'll get more responses on this subject.

Re: How's the recruiting?

I simmed a season with Colorado, and found the recruiting to be a lot tougher than last years. I was able to sign one 5 star, whereas last year I could get a couple. This year I think you really need to focus on guys are actually really interested in your school, and you cant go all out for elite 11 guys like you could last year. You also need to make sure you spread out your points to positions that you are low on. I wasnt able to fill my roster when I simmed because I was taking last years approach. This year you really need to recruit in a more methodical way.

In-season certainly seems a lot tougher, even as a team like Texas. Actually have to compete with people for players.

Re: How's the recruiting?

recruiting seems about the same, I went 6-6 with troy in my first year and moved up to 2 star prestige and got several 3 star recruits. I did notice that no one got that many 5 star recruits. I think Texas got the number one class and had 5 5 star guys.
