I love this game, I'm not having a problem stopping the run. It's the either way around, I'm having a hell of a time trying to run the ball.

Re: Stoppping the run

Hmm, for me its realistic, a good oline and RB dominate most of the time but mediocre and not so good ones don't do well. Its like a real game for me but I normally use a LB or a S and cheat a little bit sometimes and try to stop the run its just more of play calling and using the guess run play effectively.

Re: Stoppping the run

What works for me most of the time is spreading out my dline and then forcing the running back in the middle to take on the linebackers. However, this strategy is obviously weakened when squaring off against an elite back. I think the best advice against a strong runningback is to not take chances, such as risky diving tackles which could lead to a large gain. This may seem obvious, but it is something that is often overlooked. Against mediocre backs, i think an effective strategy is to pinch the dline, and control a safety. The pinch will HOPEFULLY force the back to bounce it outside and you should be able to tackle him with your linebackers or safety that you are controlling. Just be wary of play action.

This strategy is by no means amazing, but it may help your run defense.
