can i turn off the kick return camera view?

i hate the first person camera view for kick and punt returns (for ps2)...how the hell do i turn this off? i've looked in all the settings menus and cant find it

nothing you can do to change it...............except play the 360 version. It has a regular cam.

Nope.... and here's my take on it.

As much as I hate that god awful camera, I give tons of credit to EA for at least giving current gen owners SOMETHING different in their game. The third person camera view when attempting to block kicks is great. And you know what? So is the kick return camera.

You know why? Because it attempts to give you, the gamer, a more sim-like experience. We've become so accustomed to having a "god-like" view of the field that we're resistant to change. A change, in this instance, that no longer allows you to have an advantage of seeing the entire field prior to making the catch. And you know what? That's exactly what this genre needs more of: attempts to deviate from the norm with the chance of doing something special.

The camera, in its implementation as it is now, is very limited in what you see because of the grapical quality of current gen. Throw that bad boy on the 360/PS3 and hopefully we have a better end result. The depth of field vision in current gen just isn't there, causing you to sometimes make a catch when defenders are bearing down on you, situations where you would normally call for a fair catch. Another negative of the camera is when you're on defense. It really limits your viewing area, to the point that sometimes you have no idea where is the man you're controlling. Aside from those minor quibbles, as much as the camera annoyed me at first, I slowly became used to it, and reacting right before you get hit, juking a defender, then running 67 yards untouched is all the more refreshing when you do it now.

There should be an option to take it off... hell, I wish it was in the 360 version.

Either way, here is to hoping EA improves on it next and doesn't just leave it in the dust like the long list of "features" they have in years past.

The camera concept isn't so bad, they just zoomed it in too close. Give us a wider and slightly more pulled back view and that camera would be great. I know you and others say it's more sim-like but in real life people have peripheral vision and this cam is way too tunnel-vision to be considered realistic. Ease it back and give us a wider view EA and this would be a great feature.

I agree that the zoom is too close. I think it gives you more of a challenge as you can't see anything to your sides but only things ahead of you. Maybe EA can add some way that you can turn the camera angle so you can see to the side of you ala turning your head, that'd be kinda cool and realistic.

It is more sim-like and I agree with you on the "peripheral vision" portion.. it's difficult to implement that on a TV screen, though.

It's still a great first attempt IMO... with a slight tweak it could be pretty amazing...

They would have to allow for head movement for this camera to work. There is just no way to see what is coming at you from different angles without some kind of head movement. I'm not really saying that I want that in the game because that would make me crazy dizzy, but EA can't expect you to run in a zoomed in fashion without being able to look different directions.
