I've lost probably 90% of onside kicks because when the CPU kicks it, it doesnt even come close to getting to my players.

What system are you playing? I've gotten flagged every time I recovered the ball before it went 10 yards. I have managed to recover a few kicks though by kicking the top of the ball while using about half of the power meter.

on XBox, everytime I have kicked one less than 10 yards I have gotten flagged. The computer has not recovered an onside kick against me yet, I've always made it to the ball first, so I don't know if they would retain control if they recovered one less than 10 yards yet.

For me...the cpu will only kick it 5 yards and recover it, but there is no flag.
