Ask Corso or Manual Playcalling: The Choice!

Bump. So the overall consensus is using Ask Corso for D and manual picking the O plays? Wouldn't it be the other way around?

I'll ask him for periods of time, if he is hot I stick with him, once he cools off I go with my own on offense. On defense I only seek his advice to get an idea if the CPU is faking the punt.

I use to ask him all the time on both sides, but I found that asking Corso will actually show you what type of play the CPU Def is going to run about 75% of the time. So now, I just call my defensive plays based on the CPU Offensive formation called. But you just gotta mix it up on defense just as much as you do on offense to keep the CPU guessing.

When you have talented enough D, just mix it up and it works wonders. Call a cover 3 zone but show an all out blitz every now and then. Shift your line over to the side your dropping the blitz on. It works. But then make sure you know when you have to be conservative or not. If you're playing on the road and only nursing 7 point lead, favor the the pass on D but keep them honest by using a blitz/zone play every now and then.

Once, you get the hang of calling your own plays the feeling is much better knowing that you outsmarted the D rather than knowing that you let the CPU hold down themselves for you.

Just an example, the other day I was Miami in year 2 of my dynasty and I was playing Oklahoma on the road. They had a 1st and goal on the 5. Believe it or not, I stopped them on all four downs and I saved the snapshot of each play. Guess what happened on the next play on my offense? Play action. Greg Olsen. TD. And this was on Heisman. It was so exciting that I grab my hair with both hands, granted I only have a buzzcut. My girlfriend was like "that was cool." The choice is yours. And it should always be.

I do it manually but I might start asking Corso since it seems like its not a bad idea.

I have him suggest one, but if he gives me something lame, I'll pick another play from the same formation. I never let him call it on defense, ever since Madden did that a couple years back, I've never bothered. The AI was very poor for it and I got sick of hearing Madden say, "Time to call a special teams play!"
