Re: Quarter Length

I play 7 minutes and get 120 plays combined every time.

that's probably about right (60-70 plays each).

Re: Quarter Length

Recently went down to 6 minutes, and enjoy it. 7 minute quarters are a bit too long for my liking.

Re: Quarter Length

I'm interested in this as well. I just played my first game with 10 minutes quarters (on default Heisman) and beat USC 73-42. I used Notre Dame. There were a total of 148 total plays (I added pass attempts, rushing attempts, sacks and punts). I'm hoping that 148 total plays is on the high side because I really want to get realistic stats but I don't want to see super high scoring games every time.

Re: Quarter Length

The OS Vets League and the 360 OS Alternate League use 7-min.

Re: Quarter Length

I'm thinking of using 9 minute quarters. I think it is the most accurate for a realistic number of plays. I know that a post on here earlier said that the average amount of plays per team/per game was 70 making 140 total plays for both teams combined. I was wondering if anyone knows if that takes into account punts and field goals as plays. If so then 9 minute quarters are perfect. I played a nine minute quarter game yesterday and had 141 total plays. My only concern is that scores will be on the high side but then again I use Notre Dame so they should be scoring a lot of points.

Re: Quarter Length

I've read with the new rule, there could be 10-20 less plays this year in college football, so 8-9 should be fine.

I wonder if the game takes this into account. My guess is no.

Nontheless, does total plays include sacks, punts, field goals and kickoffs?
