Scouting Recruits

Alright I've searched the boards but I think its time we have an organized post discussing this.

I scout my recruits but I am not sure how the scouting report translates into ratings. Like I don't know what 40 speed translates into what speed/acceleration rating. Or what the difference is between squat and bench.

I've tried to keep notes on what is good and what to avoid but it is hard trying to get a running back who is balanced but still low 90 high 80 spd.

Hands, field awarness, passing acc, passing strength, & hands are pretty self explanitory.

This is for ps2 or xbox cuz I think i remember reading that XBox360 has other ratings, more indepth ratings.

Re: Scouting Recruits

I only know the 40 times....

4.16 = 99
4.18 = 98
4.20 = 97
4.22 = 96
4.24 = 95
etc......

The 40 times are in increments of .02 and that equals the speed rating......

Re: Scouting Recruits

bench = Strength

squat = Break Tackle

I agree.

That and I don't know about the rest of you, but in NCAA's past that hasn't always translated correctly for me. By that logic a 4.20 guy should have the same speed rating as another 4.20 guy. I don't always get that. At least not 100% of the time.

Re: Scouting Recruits

Thanks for your input, it helped me find a lot more diamonds in the rough.

One question though, I take it that if sqaut = break tackle on offense that it means tackle on defense?

Re: Scouting Recruits

for a hb would u rather have a high break tackle and low stregnth or low break tackle and low stregnth or even a balanced guy but bench and squat arent as high as the others. i like to use hbs like portis, lewis, bettis, etc. guys who can break tackles and stil have like low 90 speed but i can never find a guy who has a good bench and squat so which one is really more important. sorry if the post is a little confusing
