I'm curious what kind of rules people use for themselves during recruiting to make things not quite as easy. I like to make sure I scout every player that I might consider offering, which gives me less points to work with.

Im playing on the 360 version and I doubt i'll ever use any rules. In my 5 season as Idaho and i've yet to land a 5 *

The only rule I set for myself is that I try not to oversign. By doing that, I'm preventing another team from picking up a recruit. It's not a big deal for a 2 star guy, but if you put yourself in a position where you have to cut a 4 or 5 star recruit, you're removing a potential all american from the game.

I will set some rules once I beat Miami. Until then everyone is fair game. Personally I think it does a decent job of not letting you stack the squad. I still get a scrub here and there. I cant say I have ever cut anyone who was above a 74 or so. I usually end up cutting Juniors who arent improving much.

I found an old thread with some recruiting rules that were from another site. I'm really liking them. Basically, based on your teams prestige, you limit the number of 5* 4* and 3* recruits you may go after. You may go after as many in state guys as you want, and again based on your teams prestige you may attempt to sign so many from your region. It also limits how many out of region you may try and sign. With this I'm only pulling around 18 recruits, but I don't really need 25 because like was already mentioned, I'll just have to cut somebody who could help somebody else.

I can't seem to find the old thread. As you can see it's kinda complicated.

I'm playing with notre dame and in two years with the last one winning the NC i have yet to recruit more than 4 five star players.

But i notice a lot of 2 and 3 star cb's and wr's have 96-99 speed they cant catch worth a damn but they are fast
