Exclamation ~Official NCAA 08 (Next-Gen) Wishlist Thread~

I believe that enough time has passed that we can now start up a wishlist thread. Usually there is one up the day the game comes out. That says a lot for this game. This specific thread is for next gen only, because the wishes for current gen and next gen users will vary. This is to help avoid confusion.

Heres some:

-fix the few graphical glitches
-maybe add a few more features back
-don't make the cut routes so money
-more realistic number of penaltys
-all 1-A stadiums
-cut down on QB scrambling abilities

Re: ~Official NCAA 08 (Next-Gen) Wishlist Thread~

1. provide user-defined camera angles (a must!)
2. provide editable player equipment (another must!)
3. eliminate the dirty disk errors
4. provide more than 1 choice on kickoff returns
5. tone down the huge player models
6. and hopefully add a few things to bring more "atmosphere":
-referees
-chaing gang
-pump up the band music (seems muted)
-player entrances
-a few more mascots (texas' bevo, usc's traveller, the FSU horse & seminole, uga, etc)

Admittedly, #6 is not critical but wouldnt hurt, and would, imo, just add to an already stellar game....

Gotta admit, the game is flat-out addictive as it is.

Re: ~Official NCAA 08 (Next-Gen) Wishlist Thread~

Two most important things:

1) REAL Fatigue for QB and WR's. Do not allow people to run around with the 20 back there and have WR's running up the field every play. They should fatigue just like everyone else doing all that running. As a result the QB's Throwing Power and Accuracy should fall the further he drops back and the more people do it. You make the RB fatigue, so make the QB's and WR's do it too.

2) Tone the Pancakes way down and work more on the player interaction.

The Rest

3) Have at least 2 player tackling. Get rid of the phantom tackles and suction tackling.
4) Work on the stiff arm move.
5) Better physics. Michael Bush is 6'5 250 Halfback. Why are small 5'9 180 lb corners picking him up and dumping him on his you know what. Or even worse, going head to head with him and hit sticking him, no way this should happen.
6) Of Course they will bring over the playbooks but bring over R Stick Audibles and D playmaker. Make sure D playmaker is redone though. Shouldn't have to select everyone individually.

some additions:

1 - In-game save
2 - better coliision detection, especially on QB sacks
3 - lose Mario running
4 - Random All for Offense/Defense in practice mode - this is the best way to get a feel for your team

1.) Some real catch-in-stride animations for receivers.
2.) Better way to navigate through the team's depth charts.
3.) Much better ESPN implementation.
4.) And please add some fresh new commentary from Corso, Nessler, and Herbstreit.
5.) Oh yeah, better grass, and weather effects.
6.) Fix the generic stadiums....way too many in this years version.
7.) Better warm-up intros when a game is starting.
8.) Cpu vs. Cpu
9.) The videos of cheerleaders and fans saying "EA Sports....it's in the game" when the game starts up. I used to love looking at those vids. Got me into the mood for some NCAA football.

Re: ~Official NCAA 08 (Next-Gen) Wishlist Thread~

  1. Package subs. There's no way to set your KO team, which impacts my starting defenders' fatigue way too much.
  2. Regarding atmosphere: bring back trophies and the trophy case; put in more and better player celebrations in-game; bring back the team and all-time record books; and brighten up the "gloom and doom" graphics (everything seems way too dark/grainy.
  3. Regarding Dynasty mode: integrate a true "coach card" or "coach file" that tracks IN DEPTH your accomplishments (including number of AC, AA, Heisman, etc.); add OC's and DC's with distinct personalities (isn't it about time?); perhaps most importantly, add a TRUE dynasty interface that at least attempts to immerse the player in the mode (a la College Hoops).
  4. Regarding gameplay: obviously, collision detection (especially the "phantom sack" animations and the treadmill/Mario running/"stuck on you" animations); DB AI is atrocious--they're literally zombies stuck in their preplay stances sometimes; crisper and more varied DL play, including a variety of moves; and defenders that actually take pursuit angles would be nice, one of these years.
