Question Tackling....

... I dont have any problems tackling but I find myself using the HIT STICK a little too often...

Which method of tackling do you think is the best from your experiences....
I find that using the X button and diving into the tackle never seems to work...
Running straight into the tackle works better....
But not better than the hit stick...

This is for the 360 by the way....

Re: Tackling....

Situational for me. Run up the middle, hit stick. I dive tackle on any sweeps or screens. Seems a little more reliable b/c if you dive too far ahead of you you can still trip them while they are trying to get to the boundary. Also, I used to use the hit stick for sacks, but IMO i was missing alot of sacks b/c the "hit stick graphic" was taking a little bit longer than just diving. I run into people to tackle them when the ball is thrown out of the screen and I can't for sure make a good judgement on where they actually are.

I def. was a hit stick addict for a while.

Re: Tackling....

I almost always dive tackle.

But I've been trying to use the hit stick more, especially with runs up the middle.

Re: Tackling....

I almost always just run into the target. I'll go with the hit stick if I have a clear shot. I'll dive only when necessary...it's too easy to miss or get burned by a hurdle, which leaves you with a defender on the ground....and no way to catch up to the ball carrier.

Re: Tackling....

I use the hit stick or the strip ball button usually if it is up the middle but if they are trying to cut a corner on me I'll dive tackle.

Re: Tackling....

How do you use the hit stick - do the different directions do something different? I never use the stick but sometimes I tackle someone and see the "hit stick" indicator appear...what does that mean?

Also..someone said it is too easy to hurdle the diving tacker...how do you hurdle someone? The only time I have seen that it is automatic.
