How do you get widescreen in HD?

We've got a 32" RCA HDTV - it's not widescreen, but is there any way to letterbox it?

Thanks!

Re: How do you get widescreen in HD?

There should definitely be a way if your tv is an HDTV or HD-ready.

If you're talking about getting widescreen using the XBOX360, you need to:

1) Use component cables and set the cable to HDTV (there's a switch on the cable itself)

2) Set your XBOX 360 to 1080i in the system settings

Re: How do you get widescreen in HD?

If you're talking about the regular xbox, you cannot run an HDTV mode because it is not supported (either 720p or 1080i). 480p mode is an option, and in order to select it, you will need to get the HD cables and go into your dashboard and switch your settings. Just boot up the Xbox with nothing in the disc drive to get to your dashboard. Go to screen type and change it to 16x9 widescreen and select the video modes supported by your TV (480p, 720p or 1080i).
