I would have looked it up in the instruction manual but it appears to be see-through with almost no information inside it.

Don't know but the XBox version has had differences in the past from the PS2 (WR drops, helmuts popping off). I'm on the PS2 and don't mind momentum that much but would like the option to turn it off since I do believe it leads to more games getting out of hand than you would normally see.

Re: Overcoming Momentum

I've actually seen less of an "unrealistic" momentum boost using Mizzou79's AA sliders for Xbox. My team is amazing overall, but in the past it didn't matter if I had an A+ team and a C+ team got full momentum, the CPU would beat my arse.

It says that EA has programmed momentum so that over 1,000 factors come into play when determining it including field position, the teams rankings, composure, the score, etc. I learned that the +5 or +2 etc. on the momentum thing doesn't mean your ratings go up that amount, but up to that %. So for example, if your QB has a 85 Pass Accuracy and you have +5 momentum, his accuracy could be up to 89. If he was only a 50 Pass Accuracy he would only go up to a 52. Obviously this helps teams with higher ratings to begin with more than teams with lower ratings since it is a percentage.
It sure seems to be more of an impact than that. For me it is most noticable in the trenches. If I have +5, my O-Line will push the D-Line so far back, I am almost gauranteed 6 yards on every run. If the the CPU has +5, their nose tackle will pancake my center and tackle my ball carrier before he gets the ball.

In NCAA '07, momentum isn't part of the game, it IS the game. If anything Momentum should be a brief boost that comes into play once or twice a game. But for me, every game revolves around Mo. I played a game last night against and underdog who got the early Momentum. I pretty much spent the entire first half trying to contain their momentum which they had for the entire half. I finally got the momentum in the 4th and scored twice for a 14-7 win.

I do kind of like that you are penalized for not converting on 4th down. It encourages punting and a more realistic game.

Re: Timeouts & Momentum

Momentum is a BIT overdone despite what some think but it adds so much to the game. Now, you can't take that underdog lightly and do dumb &$$* because if they get the mo then you will spend time trying to fight back into the game. I like it ALOT more when playing the game than I do when "coaching". When "coaching" you may as well restart when you get behind in MO.

Yeah, I think I agree with that. It adds an intersting dynamic, but it is just too much. Momentum scares me, so my conservative game has become even more conservative. When I select a pass play, I should fear an intereception for obvious reasons. But I shouldn't be thinking "Uh oh, if I throw a pic here, they will be +5 and dominate the rest of the half/game."
