CPU Running Project...

For anyone interested, I have just completed some extensive reasearch on how to get the CPU to carry the ball a realistic amount of times on a consistant basis. To make a long story short, I went to NCAA.org and grabbed the latest REAL College stats. I had to export the spreadsheet and merge it together, but anyway I came up with the REAL Run/Pass % for each team.

For example Auburn runs 61% of the time IN REAL LIFE and runs a balanced offense in the GAME. For each Blanced Offense in the game, I add 5 percentage points to each teams run %. So now Auburn's run/pass % IN THE GAME is 66%.

For teams that run the spread offense, I add 10 percentage points, and for teams running the West Coast I add 12 percentage points. So Boston College who runs a West Coast Offense in the game and has a 49% run ratio IN REAL LIFE, now has a 61% run/39% pass in the game.

You will need to g through and change all of these in the Coach Options screen before you begin a dynasty, but I think you will really enjoy the results.

Re: CPU Running Project...

Good work man. Actually, Jukeman34 did some similar work to this, but I think he may have even taken it a step further by breaking down playbooks and the # of run plays vs. pass plays in each and applying percentages of actual run/pass playcalling.

I have used his for 2 yrs now and have liked the results. If you ever felt the need to tweak, just go into Coaching Options like you said. Very helpful.

Re: CPU Running Project...

as a reminder, remember to change the ratios back to there original settings after you play the cpu. If you don't things get screwy for them

Great work...things aren't too screwy though...I've left my settings for all teams at 61/39, and BYU, Hawaii, Tex. Tech are all still up there in passing...however, they are not riduculously up there, ie 6000 yards, like with the pass ratio at 80%...also that is also the highest you can go, 80%...

You set every team to 61 run, 39 pass?

Seems to me that would make every team perform the same, no?
